I try to engage with the world with as much intellectual and emotional honesty as possible. Or find silly things about which to laugh. Or stare at sunsets. And drink coffee. Did I mention coffee? But all that aside, am easygoing. Look for joy in the little things.

Good things only come through hard work, through determined trying. Yet the most wonderful moments in life are pure gifts.

I'm on a backpacking trip right now and am couchsurfing. I love the opportunity to meet people.

Books - the list could go on and on. Favourite poets: Donne, Milton, Blake, T.S. Eliot, P.B. Shelley. I adore everything written by Virginia Woolf. Beckett's plays are genius. Angela Carter is funny and fierce and brilliant. The short stories of Chekhov and Munro encompass the universe.

I read far more books than I watch movies. Monty Python's The Meaning of Life and Requiem for a Dream are two of my favourite films
