ABOUT ME

I love to meet new people and visit countries around the world. My two adult children live thousands of miles from me, and from each other, but we stay closely connected.
I have renovated houses for many years, doing most of the work myself, and I use as many natural, earth-friendly materials as possible. I paint, and write about, and photograph what I see, and am most interested in people, so I do many portraits.
Last year, I completed yoga/qigong teacher training, and have been leading classes wherever I travel. As well, I lead singing workshops. They are casual, call-and-response events, and the best part is that everyone leaves smiling. Creating community through song is great!

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that we are in an amazing transitional time, and will emerge in a way that we can't yet imagine!
The most important thing is that we get to know each other better...experience brings understanding, understanding leads to acceptance, acceptance blossoms into love, and with love, we are united in peace.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have not had any experiences through this site, but I have shared my home with travelers and new friends from around the world, and visited the homes of many people in my travels. I had the wonderful experience of spending Christmas 2008 north of the Arctic Circle, and was welcomed by Gwitch'in and Inuvialuit people into their celebrations.
I particularly enjoyed a Christmas spent in a traditional Mexican home, dancing and singing all night long, and a wonderful New Year in a small village in Dominican Republic. I love the music and the warmth of the people of the Caribbean countries!

Interests

Riding horses, hiking, biking, and cycling, are a big part of my life. I love music, and dancing, painting, sculpting in clay, and qigong. I really enjoy cooking and the experience of creating and sharing food with the people I meet.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spending two months in the Arctic, after claiming to be a warm-weather person, was a wonderful experience! I thought of the north as cold and dark in winter, and was amazed at the brightness and color, even during the 24 hours of "darkness". Brilliant stars, moon, Northern Lights, sparkling snow, and shades of pink, mauve, purple and indigo from the sun below the horizon, created an incomparable feast of colour!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to share my experiences playing with energy, from Qigong to Reiki! It's fun to share similar experiences with others, and fun to introduce people who have not yet played with it!
I am also eager to learn from others, and hope to improve my rudimentary French and Spanish, as well as learn other languages. Also any type of Yoga, Qigong, martial art, dance, flying, sailing, and music are of great interest!
