About Me

I'm an introvert who loves people. I love to read and draw, and I also love kids. I think kids see the world with amazing eyes, and as I work with them I get to see the world through their eyes to, and to understand how another human, no matter how small, sees the world is a rare and beautiful thing. I am also a HUGE nerd. It is my goal in life to complete every Legend of Zelda game ever made, and I hopelessly collect Batman comics. I don't think adventure and gaming are exclusive, because the best games are the ones that cause you to think and explore, to learn and grow. I believe there is a philosophy behind everything, and that knowledge truly is power. The more you know, the more you can love, live, and laugh.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am just begining to become independent, and with this new found independence, I plan to travel and grow. I don't plan on wasting any time, I am going to experience as much as I can. I love the stories that people can tell, that my story is made of other stories. And my story will affect other stories. And those stories live forever intertwined, even a brief meeting is a change in someone's story. You never know the way you affect someone's life, and I plan to tell a great story.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite band: Mariannas Trench and O Wonder
Movies: Anything Pixar has done, but we don't talk about Cars 2. Most Tim Burton films, the Princess Bride, the Die Hard Series, and sadly, sports movies. I know their awful, I just cant help myself. We all have a guilty pleasure or two. I have a soft spot for war movies and indie films.
Books: anything by Jane Austen, Rick Riordan, and C.S. Lewis. I love George Orwell, specifically 1984. I've read all the Harry Potter books more than once, and basically every teen romance novel set ina dystopia future. There's the second guilty pleasure. Ender's Game, Ready Player One, and Something Wicked This Way comes are all books I've read more than a few times. The list goes on, really.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've read over 75 books in two months, does that count as amazing?

Teach, Learn, Share

"Creativity takes courage" brilliantly said by Henri Mattise. To be creative is to bare one's soul to another, and art is entirely subjective. That means my creativity, and expressing that creativity, is to expose my deepest self for evaluation and scrutiny. I do not consider myself the bravest of souls, but I will always brave judgment if that is what it takes to be authentically myself and creative.

An oldie but a goodie, knowledge is power. Knowledge is the best way to arm yourself, and to become a better person. I fully believe that the best way to love is to know. The more you know someone, the more you love them, the more you know about them, the better you can love them.

What I Can Share with Hosts

An open heart and ear. I am ready to learn and listen, and tell a few stories myself. I am an artist, albeit an amateur one, but if art has taught me anything its that I will always be learning. If you want a long reading recommendation list, or some basic art tips, I'm your girl. I'm always down for a long conversation about anything and everything, laughing to hard, and thinking about the world on a new way
