Hi there! My name is Shevani; I’m 27 years old have lived in the Netherlands for almost 2 years now, where I am studying Soil Biology. Yes, I think earthworms are pretty cool! In September, I will be starting my thesis on Agroforestry, which I am excited about! I am half-Indian, half-Scottish, and I consider Brussels my home as that’s where I grew up. I love Brussels because despite being a big city, it still feels like a village; there’s always someone around and you’re never far from the forest or the countryside. In my free time, I love hiking/trekking, going for walks in the forest with my dog Spice, relaxing outside in the sun, sharing a nice meal with friends, and listening to music.

I am Couchsurfing because I can think of no better way of discovering a new place. I look forward to meeting people along the way to share a moment, no matter how brief, and hopefully learn about the place through their eyes.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I hiked the Tour du Mont Blanc trail a few years ago for 8 days - this was my first trek in the mountains alone and I loved every minute of it. The silence at the top of the mountain, the feeling in your legs and feet after 8 hours of walking, the terrible bland porridge you cook in the morning on the stove,... the best.

If I stay with you, I'd love to cook for you or prepare a nice vegetarian meal together - I love cooking pasta alla norma (Italian), Baingan bharta (Indian), and noodles. I'm also happy to help around the house and help taking care of animals if you have any!
