Hello Couchsurfing community, i am Frankie. Currently live in San Francisco, CA. I’ve lived all across the United States — from New York and Vermont to Texas, Hawaii, Oregon, and California. I also lived in Pakistan for two months, Australia backpacking for a month, South Africa for a month project, and Japan for a month, and Europe for three months. These experiences have taught me to adapt easily to new environments and to appreciate cultural diversity. I truly believe that the world is flat — we’re all human beings. Living in so many different places has made me open-minded and respectful of others and their cultures. As I learned in Hawaii: “Be Aloha.”

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first Couchsurfing experience was in Australia in Byron Bay. i was so nervous since it is my first time. We only talked few time online. However, it turns out to be a wonderful experience. My buddy Tassie who we still talked from time to time. i learned a lot from him. he knows so much about plant and we shared so many good stories together.

I’m also a certified sommelier, ever since I fell in love with wine during university. I love discovering new wines, especially local ones when I travel abroad.

Beyond that, I’m an avid hiker, going on hikes almost every month since moving to San Francisco, and I’ve also explored many stunning trails in Hawaii.

I’m a scuba diver and love water sports — I’ve dived in the Great Barrier Reef, Hawaii, and China, and I can’t wait to explore more diving sites around the world.

Moreover, I’m passionate about music — from playing the saxophone to enjoying electronic music. I was also part of a choir when I was younger. Music, for me, is another way to connect with people and cultures.

Also i have been learning French. Love to new languages

Well i went to Pakistan and worked as an intern in a social enterprise.I raised money for flood victims in 2010. And making lots of friends and share fantastic culture in there.

Worked in South Africa for a month, helping a local lavender farmer expanding her network and provide marketing strategy.

When I was in college, I majored in Law and Economics, so I have a strong understanding of China’s political and legal systems. I also enjoy cooking simple Chinese dishes and playing the saxophone. Having traveled to many places across China, I love sharing fun stories and cultural experiences from my journeys.

I’m very passionate about NGOs. I founded the Junior Achievement SCNU Branch at my university, and I also participated in SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise), where we used our business knowledge to help people in need.

My career path has been quite diverse, but I truly believe in the idea of connecting the dots. We all spend years figuring out what we really want to do in life — and it’s never too late to explore new directions.

After earning my bachelor’s degree, I worked for two years in L’Oréal’s marketing department, then became a lawyer in China while applying for graduate programs in the U.S. Later, I pursued my master’s degree at Cornell University, focusing on economic and financial policy analysis.

After that i was working in finance for a year. ( Also passed CFA level 2 exams) Currently, I work as a commodity trader, specializing in semiconductor equipment — one of the hottest and most dynamic industries today.

Beyond my professional life, I’m passionate about history, politics, and the arts, and I always enjoy learning more about the local culture, political landscape, and creative scene wherever I go.
