About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To teach, and experience all that it has to offer.

ABOUT ME

Grew up in a small town in southwest Missouri. After high school I decided to stay in my town for awhile and go to a community college to see what I wanted to do with my life. I decided Biology was the path for me and exchanged schools from Crowder to the University of Missouri Kansas City. A year and a half later, however, I decided that I enjoyed Geography much more. As a result, I decided to change schools again to central Missouri in Columbia: the state university. Having always enjoyed teaching throughout college and even a bit through high school plus my desire to travel, I decided that teaching in Japan would be a wise decision. Upon joining the JET program I moved out here to Kagawa and have been enjoying it since.

PHILOSOPHY

One is generally only as happy as they perceive things. Try to look at the brighter aspect of everyday life and learn to roll with the punches.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I teach and try to get involved with my community as much as I have time to. I get involved with my students after school with club activities like Shorinji Kempo and Kendo. I get involved with the other people on the weekends at social events as well.

Interests

I dig sports, and anything relatively athletic. I love reading as well though haven't had much time for it lately. Travel is probably the biggest on my list and is one of the main reasons I signed up for Couch Surfing. I think traveling should generally made much easier for everyone.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

So far I've visited and done a lot of things that I would say were amazing, but to sum up really big things into two small answers I'd have to say: Thailand, India, and Japan.

Countries I’ve Visited
