Trying to extend my stay overseas for as long as possible... that requires some budget friendly accommodations. I've participated in work exchanges as well, but when you're on-the-go, it's more difficult to commit to longer stays. What I've learned, however, is that living on a budget is eye-opening and often allows you to experience more culture than hotel or hostel hopping might.
