About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Hear your stories, do a good deed every day, become a better person

ABOUT ME

I'm fairly honest, easy going, and if you're keen to stay at mine for a spell then I reckon we can have some good, cheap fun. If you want to just chill then I've got stacks of DVDs, but if you want to get a bit active then I'm a big fan of cycling and bushwalking. I live alone and it's nice to have company. If you do choose to stay then it would be nice to have a few beers with you and chat about your travels.

PHILOSOPHY

Now would be a good time to mention that I'm modern Buddhist, not a monk, although I wasn't brought up with the belief system - I chose it later on in life. I believe we all want the same thing. We all have a common goal. We all want happiness, we just have different ways of going about that, and the path to happiness is through ending suffering. I also believe we shouldn't bother stressing about anything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been hosting a fair bit lately. Consider it my good deed for the day.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted 8 Couchsurfers to date. Best Couchsurfers I've had are those who have been keen to chat and exchange some conversation over a few beers and pizza.

Interests

I'm a huge fan of reading, writing, cycling, thinking, drinking, walking, eating, sleeping, films, friends, family, working. Basically I love everything except doing nothing. My brain has to be active.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many to list. I love the films of Michael Mann, books by pretty much any Australian author, Brett Easton Ellis is also pretty cool but a bit nuts. Favourite music genre is easily hardcore/post-rock/punk

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ran Melbourne marathon. It was epic. Did a 35km hike in one day through dense bush in the national park. Overcame my fear of public speaking. Got tattoos. Also epic.

Countries I’ve Visited

Japan, New Zealand, Philippines
