ABOUT ME
Hello! My name is Shirish and currently living with my family in the city of Bangalore, India. I did my studies mostly in India before heading to Fribourg, Switzerland for my PhD in biochemistry. I stayed in Fribourg for approx. 6 years. I am working as a scientist (postdoctoral fellow) at a biological institute in India. I like to spend time with my friends and family and share my thoughts on different topics. I just get excited with many new and different stuffs be it in my research, cooking, sports etc.
Interests
Life is short! and there are so many things which I want to do in life :) I like to invest my time in sports like tennis, cricket. I have recently started learning french but right now its rudimentary. I love hiking. For me its the best thing I discovered when I came to Fribourg. I feel happy and content in mountains!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It was in India. I was doing my masters in Vellore, Tamil Nadu (a southern state in India). I came from the north part and if someone is already to India, he/she knows how much different the north and south are! For me too even though i am living in the same country :) i was so surprised but I was in love with everything there in the end :) yes food was amazing !
Second experience was also in India which left me fascinated and that passion I am still continuing here in Fribourg. I never saw big mountains (except in movies and documentaries) as I used to live in plains (Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh). It was in 2009 when I finished my masters in Vellore and with some friends we planned to hike one of the mountains in south India. The place was Munnar. We started very early like 6 in the morning and reached top in 3 hours. The view was so amazing. One side of the mountain you can see tea plantation (very organized) and one side is spice plantation (unorganized) ! beautiful :)
