Hello there! I am Shishira and I'm from Bangalore, a city in southern India!

I'm currently on a quest to travel across Asia over the next few months, with my husband and fellow traveler Navneeth! We left home in May 2022 and have been on the road since. Our goal is to visit as many countries over the course of the next year to experience the beauty of life. 👫🏻

We previously worked in the investment banking industry and started writing a blog www.backpacksters.com to share free budget travel tips and guides to make it easy for others to travel! But, when we left home last year to travel for a year, we began documenting our daily life on www.youtube.com/@thebackpacksters to remember this once-in-a-lifetime adventure!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm looking to meet locals who can teach me more about the way of life, the local sights, the history and the interesting facets of everyday living in their city! It's always a great experience to meet fellow travellers who share a similar thirst for exploration as my husband and I do!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

· Went canyoning in the grandest waterfalls in Creole Africa
· Hiked up Nam Xay Peak in Laos in torrential rain
· Swam with whale sharks (bigger than a school bus)
· Climbed an active volcano during eruption
· Explored the northern most city in the world (over the Arctic Circle)

I have been editing videos everyday for a year now - so I'll be glad to help you know the basics of video editing, if you are curious. We have been sharing long form and short form content on various social media platforms, in case you are curious or you are about to start something new, we can guide you on how to go about with it. I have previously worked as an accountant and an auditor, I can share some knowledge about personal finance and budgeting as well

What I Can Share with Hosts

We have many stories to share from our travels around the world! Besides this, I can prepare south Indian dishes if you have a kitchen, and even teach you the recipes! We're not demanding, loud or noisy, we're a simple balance of introvert and extrovert - so we hopefully won't be of trouble in any way if you choose to host us.
