About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To make this world a better place by contributing as much as I can & Being Human

ABOUT ME

Hello, I am Shivesh Kumar - a citizen of this world whose biggest aim in life is to deliver this world a better future. Then a citizen of India currently living in Gothenburg, Sweden. Prior to this, I lived in Germany for 8 years and 2 years in France and spent some months living in Austria, Switzerland and the United States.

I belong to a place(i.e. India) which is so much diversified in itself. And I have travelled a lot in India almost to its every state and have met all kinds of people. Now I am particularly interested in traveling across this globe to different countries and want to learn from their culture.

I am a very open minded person. I am very altruistic and believe in humanity. I am an egalitarian and believe in universal love. I think we should be equally compassionate to everybody on this planet.

I am freedom loving spirit who finds a lot of pleasure in connecting with different people. Also, a nature lover and adventure enthusiast. Though I haven't tried much of adventure sports but I look forward to try them all soon! :-) I am a restless and tame less spirit thirsty to experience new things in life and increase my understanding of this universe.

My life revolves around a Bucket list. It keeps filling and getting emptied. I am a kind of person who has a very clear vision and goals in life and I try my best to accomplish them all.

I am an idealist, a free-thinker and an optimistic rationalist. My secret plan is to see this world as a place which is full of trust, has no differences between rich and poor and its people indulging themselves only in sublime deeds. You will say that I am a dreamer but I am not the only one. I hope someday you will us and this world will be one. I am pretty much inspired by the John Lennon's best composition "Imagine". I feel really good when I listen to this song again and again. Its wonderfully portrayed here: http://www.stanleycolors.com/2013/09/imagine-john-lennon/

PHILOSOPHY

"Happiness is the key to success in life. And once you discover self love, you will be the happiest person in this world because this will make you rise above all the prejudices (about rich, poor, gaunt, obese, white, black etc.) which people make in their minds."

"If you believe that your love for humanity comes before your religious beliefs, ethnicity and patriotism, think that pride and self-righteousness are the cause of most tensions and negativity, and are mesmerized by the beauty and mystery of this universe, then I have the same religion as you."

"You end up with a tremendous respect for a human being, if you're a roboticist." - My personal & professional experience!

If you have eagerness in your heart, it means you are alive,
If your eyes are filled with dreams, it means you are alive.
Learn to be free like the wind,
Learn to flow freely like the river,
Embrace every moment with open arms,
See a new horizon every time with your eyes,
If you carry surprise in your eyes, it means you are alive,
If you have eagerness in your heart, it means you are alive.

My life is somewhat inspired by these quotes:

1. Life is a box of chocolates, you never know what you are gonna get. From the movie "Forrest Gump"

2. Heroism on command, senseless violence, and all the loathsome nonsense that goes by the name of patriotism -- how passionately I hate them! - Albert Einstein

3. A man's ethical behavior should be based effectually on sympathy, education, and social ties; no religious basis is necessary. Man would indeed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hope of reward after death. - Albert Einstein

4. Anger dwells only in bosom of fools. - Albert Einstein

5. Without mathematics we cannot penetrate deeply into philosophy.
Without philosophy we cannot penetrate deeply into mathematics.
Without both we cannot penetrate deeply into anything.

6. "It’s a funny thing coming home. Nothing changes. Everything looks the same, feels the same, even smells the same. And then suddenly you realize what’s changed, is you." - From the movie "The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons"

7. "Its not always necessary to be strong, but to feel strong." - From the movie Into the Wild

8. Love withers under constraint; its very essence is liberty.
It is compatible neither with obedience, jealousy nor fear.
It is there most pure, perfect, and unlimited when
its votaries live in confidence, equality and unreserve. - P. B. Shelly

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

By surfing, hosting and meeting people from different backgrounds.

I don't select people while hosting because that's not my way of CS. I want to meet everyone, freeloaders, backpackers, travelers, tourists! I embrace your way. If you write to me and if I am available, there are extremely high chances that I will accept you.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was introduced to this idea by a friend of mine, and in no time it became the philosophy of my life.
visited 11 states (4.88%)Create your own visited map of The World or Amsterdam travel guide for Android

Interests

I have the deepest affection for intellectual conversations. The ability to just sit and talk. About love, about life, about anything, about everything. To sit under the moon with all the time in the world, the full speed train that is our lives slowing to a crawl. Bound by no obligations, barred by no human limitations. To speak without regret or the fear of consequence. To talk for hours and about what's really important in life.

I absolutely love discussions about the idea of universal love, peace building, consciousness, macro and micro cosmos, our universe, brain, universal oneness, existentialism, science, mythology, ideas of happiness, religions, vegetarianism etc. If you seem to love these topics, we will get along really well. I can guarantee that :)

I love traveling, meeting new people especially if they represent some different culture. I believe in humanity so I like to help people as much as I can. Apart from this, I like adventure sports.

As an engineering student, I love science and engineering. I love to learn about new technologies and inventions. I have a special respect for people who are innovative and creative. I also love TED talks - Ideas worth spreading!

I love food. My favorite food is Indian food - especially different curries made with cottage cheese(Paneer). Also, I love pizzas. Love to try new pizza flavors. :)

Talking long hours about different cultures, traditions, languages which makes us special in ourselves.

I love discussing my bucket list with anyone I meet. I have 50 things to do before I die on my list. How many things you have on your list? Let's exchange! :-) If you haven't made your bucket list, I strongly recommend you to do that. The experience of writing a bucket list will help you discover yourself. And that's an amazing feeling, Trust me!

And finally live life to the fullest!!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Whatever I know!! ;) Robotics, Computer Programming, Mathematics, Physics etc. - Knowledge and Education must be free & one day all the governments will embrace this. I salute Khan Academy and Wikipedia.

I can teach you how to cook delicious Indian food. :) Once, a friend asked me, "What does patriotism means to you?" I answered, "Indian Food" :D

Learn: I want to learn about people, cultures, languages, music, dance, cooking etc. As long as you are a good teacher, I am interested to learn anything. :)

I want to learn perfectionism from Germans, punctuality from Japanese and mannerism from Britishers. If your culture has something special to offer, I am open to embrace it in my lifestyle.

Share: I can give anybody a very good perspective of my country, what to expect and what not. I am not the one who like to brag about my country, ethnicity or religion. I can tell you both the positive sides and the negative sides of my country. I love the discussions on topics like "How our world should be?", "Do we really need the concept of God and Religions to live a happy life?","Science and Humanity","How to live a happy life?". Oh, I am sounding a bit philosophical here. But I am open to discuss anything. :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share myself. I believe in the sacred concept of sharing everything.
