About Me

I’m an Ayurvedic doctor (an Intern) based in Udupi, and I strongly believe in the balance of the five elements of life. I usually prefer travelling solo, and hosting has become a natural extension of meeting new people and exchanging experiences. I’ve recently started hosting more actively, so please read my full description before sending a request.

I generally don’t host people with zero references, but if your profile and request message truly stand out, I might make an exception. For foreign nationals, it is mandatory to share a copy of your passport along with details about which country you’re coming from and where you’re heading next—this is purely for safety and confirmation.

Please don’t consider this as a “free stay.” Couchsurfing is about exchange, not entitlement. You are welcome to share your knowledge, culture, skills, or stories—anything meaningful that adds value to the experience. Regarding local travel, please don’t depend entirely on me, as I may be busy at the hospital during the day. I’m usually free in the evenings and happy to help or hang out when possible.

I can assure you that you won’t regret staying with me.
Thank you! 😊

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing because my travel plans are currently held hostage by my job, so I decided to make the world come to me instead. I love meeting new people, sharing stories, and learning about different cultures—plus, it’s far cheaper than buying flight tickets.
If you bring good vibes, good stories, or good snacks, we’ll get along just fine!

Interests

I travel a lot whenever I get free time, but for now, I’m rooted here in Udupi because of my work. Even though I’m staying in one place, meeting travellers still gives me the same excitement and fresh perspectives as travelling.

I’m deeply passionate about Ayurveda, not just as a profession but as a way of life. If you're interested, I can explain its principles in depth and show you why integrating Ayurveda into daily life can truly make a difference in one’s physical and mental balance.

I also love being behind the camera—capturing moments, stories, and the small details that others often miss. Photography and making videos are my creative outlets, and I enjoy observing the world through the lens, being the “eyes” that freeze moments in time.

Music, Movies, and Books

I watch movies of all genres—anything that’s interesting or entertaining. Music is the same for me; I enjoy all kinds depending on my mood. I’m not much of a reader, but I make up for it with stories from my travels and life experiences.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For me, anything I do for the first time feels amazing. Some of my most memorable adventures include:

32 days of solo travelling around India, which I documented as Tales of India.

Camping in the valleys of Lahaul on the banks of the Bhaga River.

Deep-sea fishing with local fishermen for a whole day.

16 km rafting on the Ganga from Shivpuri to Rishikesh.

Hitchhiking from Mumbai to Ahmedabad on a truck.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share a brief but meaningful understanding of Ayurveda, medicine, and how its principles can be integrated into everyday life. I also enjoy exchanging travel stories—not a professional traveller, but I definitely have some interesting experiences to talk about.

I can help you prepare an itinerary for travelling across South India, especially if you enjoy nature, culture, and offbeat locations. If the timing works out, I can even take you to my estate in the middle of the Western Ghats rainforest. It’s a wild experience where you might spot leopards, deer, boars, gaur, and sometimes even tiger pugmarks during night walks—one unforgettable adventure.

My hometown is about 40 km from Udupi city, and this estate is located in a very remote area where the Varahi River flows right through the property. This river connects to one of India’s largest waterfalls and several beautiful hidden waterfalls. The surroundings are filled with untouched mountains and offbeat landscapes. (Note: I live in Udupi city, so I can take you there only if I’m free.)

If possible, I can also show you traditional performances like Yakshagana or Bhutakola—ritual art forms unique to Tulunadu (Udupi & Mangalore). They are culturally powerful experiences, but it depends on whether any performances are happening nearby at that time.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A good company indeed
