About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn what I love.

ABOUT ME

Hi. According to me, I'm a pretty easygoing human! I tend to exist between a calm state or a very exuberant state. I get very excited about outdoor adventures, dancing adventures, exercise adventures, lecture adventures, conversational adventures and cooking adventures! I'm very in love with my family and friends! Happy for the experiences I have had. Happy right now. Excited for what is yet to come!

PHILOSOPHY

I have taken care of a lot of children. I believe that all children and all children that continue to develop as adults deserve the best care continually throughout the entire lifespan. Continue to care for oneself and others as I would with a loved one is how I prefer to exist. I find that when something becomes unloving and without respect, whatever it may be, it tends to fall apart. I like the philosophical pondering that change is the only constant thing in the universe.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Ah well, I am horrible at CS upkeep. I deeply admire how thoughtful people are to have created this site! I advocate and now it is the time to participate more. I've lived throughout the greater Seattle area my entire life. I currently live in the Beacon Hill neighborhood. Living or studying in a different country is high on the list of life goals. I cannot say where first yet. All your expertise in this is greatly appreciated

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Years ago I met up with couchsurfers in Maui. To say it was the best day on the island is not enough, it is a day I think back on fondly and frequently still. My sister and I met and surfed with some amazing CS hosts in Vancouver and ended up making amazing friends with them! I currently don't host at my house because I am in preparation and working hard to travel! I will return the favor when I can.

Interests

I'm interested in people! Not exactly people who have the same interests, just people who are excited about what they love to do and what to share their knowledge and experiences!

Lately I've been learning/loving/daydreaming about...hiking, learning unfamiliar language, cooking, eating, tea, yoga, Ayurveda, meditation, birding, geology, mycology, surfing, snowboarding, backpacking, dancing, rock/tree climbing, I do love making time to create art, singing & playing music in no particular order.

If you feel like sitting down to have tea, exploring the foodie world, swapping cooking ideas, doing yoga, going to get massages, visiting community acupuncture clinics and spas, going on a naturalist or outdoor adventure, going to museums, attending musical performances, dealing with my wonky dancing, being musical, listening to lectures, swapping backpacking tips and/or pondering life, I'm you're person.

If you feel like going to large shopping centers, picking out candy, sitting in sports bars to look at TV, you will be going without me but we can catch up later!

Music, Movies, and Books

I have read more books than the average person in the last 4 years! ...mostly children's stories that don't have considerable page count and lots of ART and PICTURES! Honestly, I'm like a cow when it comes to reading. I graze a lot but when I find a good patch I take my time. Last book read was Anne Frank's diary. Sherman Alexie holds my attention. Fond of natural biology and science books as well.

I'm more or a lover with music these days. There is a lot to love. I'm listening to Cesaria Evora right now. Ros Sereysothea is my all time favorite female vocalist. Male favorite is a toss up Catano Veloso, Sam Cook, MJ, Seu Jorge maybe. Lots of Gramatik lately. I enjoy hearing reggae Saturday mornings streaming on KEXP 90.3 FM. The last show I went to was Balkan & Bluegrass. Last I danced to was Filistine.

I think about movies like "Troll Hunter", "Baraka", "180 Degrees South", "13 Tzameti", "Life Aquatic", "Ayyam wa Layali", "The Last Unicorn" and "Le Iceberg" pretty frequently. Last movie I enjoyed was "Dancer in the Dark". It was a musical and Bjork was involved. I found it hilarious and kind of amazing. There are movies in most categories that I can appreciate. I enjoy lighthearted movies that don't involve awkward gender roll dynamics and then on the flip side, over the top ninja and zombie movies. Anything Wes Anderson has done I'm doomed to enjoy!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've felt a baby kick in a mother's stomach.

Tasted fish I've caught, fruit and vegetables I've grown, mushrooms I've gathered.

Heard calls to prayer echo through Moroccan medinas.

Seen the sunrise while swimming in the ocean.

(Oh, just one huh? I was trying to use all my senses!)

Teach, Learn, Share

Swapping travel tips and places to go!

I'm about to take my first yoga teacher training course! I'll teach what I know!

I cannot express enough, I would love to learn any words/terms/songs/poems in languages I don't know. I'm most studied in Spanish, I am on an endeavor to learn Tagalog fluently to be able to speak to my family and friends living in the Philippines. I can say some very common things in most of the countries I've visited.

I'll teach you how I make my chai!

I'll share food and time! I'll be happy to cook vegan/vegetarian/pescetarian dishes! Cooking and learning new methods and ingredients is so valuable to me!

I'll listen to what you want to teach and share! Everyone is my teacher whether they know it or not.
