ABOUT ME

My name is Spencer Hunt and I am a twenty one year old junior at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I am a French language and history major, and am currently studying in Besancon, France. I am a die-hard Nebraska Cornhusker fan (American college football) and enjoy spending my time reading and learning. I also spend all together way too much time thinking about and paying attention to American politics, but it's something I enjoy doing.

PHILOSOPHY

Carpe Diem. Experience as much as you can, because you never know when it's going to end. My family and close friends are the most important thing in my life. I would do anything for them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At this point I honestly have not participated in the CS project. I went to Normandy with a fellow student from Nebraska and she told me that she was going to be CouchSurfing in Paris in April. I love meeting new people and experiencing different cultures, so I definitely thought that it sounded like a cool idea.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None to speak of, sadly...

Interests

History of any kind, but I really enjoy American political history and philosophy, especially surrounding the Constitution of the United States.
Husker football games. I have missed a home game since November of 2006. That may be the best part of being a student at Nebraska-but the classes are good too... ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

As far as music goes, just about anything other than rap.
I absolutely love movies. One of my favorite things to do is sit and watch a good movie.
If there's a book in front of me, I'll at least open it and see where it leads me. That doesn't mean that I will finish it, but I'll try any book once.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am currently studying abroad in France. That, to me, is the most amazing experience I have ever had. It has allowed me to see Europe, or at least very small parts of it, and that is something that I may not have had the opportunity to do otherwise.

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe that everyone has something that they can teach to others in the world, and I believe that through travel and experiencing the world, people learn the most about themselves and others. This CouchSurfing society helps with that, and makes it so that anyone can have a place to stay, on any budget. I learn best through experience, and fascilitating that is the best thing anyone could ever do.
