ABOUT ME

We are a married couple - Eimi and Roo. Eimi was born and raised in Gardena, California, a city about 30 minutes south of Los Angeles. Roo was born in the Philippine Islands, but moved to California when he was 10. He mainly grew up in Pacifica, CA, a city about 20 minutes from San Francisco. We've lived in Las Vegas, Nevada for about 6 years, but moved back to California in 2008 and have been loving it ever since! Please see the rest of our profile for an opportunity to get to know us.

PHILOSOPHY

We have many philosophies, but the main ones that speak to who we are as people are: (1) work hard and play hard, (2) believe in karma, living our lives as best we can and treat others the way we want to be treated, (3) love to learn and explore, and (4) live life to the fullest cause it's the only we've got!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As of July 2011, we've hosted two couchsurfers. What we've enjoyed the most is learning about their cultures. Something I have found interesting is that although we live in different countries, we are very similar as human beings. We look forward to meeting more people!

Interests

Our interests are fairly simple. Eimi enjoys cooking and Roo is an avid photographer. We have 3 friendly dogs - Mousepad, Stain and Fiona. Other than that, we work during the day, spend time with friends at night and/or on the weekends, love trying new food and restaurants and love to explore Southern California.

Music, Movies, and Books

We love all kinds of movies and range from the Swedish "Let The Right One In", the Japanese "Seven Samurai", to American classics, science fiction movies and documentaries. An all-time favorite movie is "Serenity".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most recent amazing things we've done were to travel to the summit of Mauna Kea on the Big Island of Hawaii and hike into the crater of Kilauea 3 months before it erupted.

Teach, Learn, Share

A couple of things we can teach is how to see the funny side of any situation and how to adapt to any situation and make it work out. We'd love to learn anything that has made your life richer or that is just plain clever :)
