About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My mission is to try the "digital nomad" lifestyle. I love travelling so I want to see if life "on the road" is something I could do. :)
ABOUT ME
I am a Brazilian, originally from São Paulo. My parents and most of my family is from Chile and currently live there. I have lived there when I was young for a period of time. Then, moved back to Brazil and finally to the United States where I went to college.
I came back to Brazil a few years ago, after living in the US for many years. I moved to SP, my hometown. Then, late last year came to Rio de Janeiro due to a family emergency that made me question a lot of things in my life.
Now I am looking to travel the world at live a different lifestyle. I cannot do it without working so I am learning about being a ""digital nomad". I am not sure if it is for me, but I have to give it a try.
Since this is a transition year for me, with the WorldCup and everything going on in my life the ideal of a 6-9 month sabbatical was born. But since I could not afford it and while learning about it, I heard of this new lifestyle I am willing to give it a try.
With all that said, I am lookinf forward to meet other people trying the same thing or who have done it. I also like to meet locals with this travel mindset.
I am a bit shy (serious, reserved kind of person), sweet and at the same time very outspoken. I love movies, reading and writing as well as, of course, getting to know people and places! I enjoy cooking once in a while though I am not that good at it. I love wine, music.. life.
If I had to describe myself in one sentence I would say I am a 35 years-old girl with a great heart, trying to make a difference in the world.
PHILOSOPHY
Live and let live. Respect above everything. Also, give without expecting something in return. I am trying to adopt this last philosophy now, especially after I learned about the "Gift Economy".
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I would like to attend events and I will be looking for hosts this way or through meeting first. I am new to this idea and I am very careful (so meeting at puclic places, asking a lot of questions, etc.) as I do not want to be stuck in a dangerous situation.
In the future I would like to host, likely in Chile where I intend to have a place. At the moment I have no apartment so cannot offer acommodation.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I had one experience through a friend. Apparently a friend of her recommended this guy who she met through here. She offered her room while she went away to Europe. I was renting a room from here. She said this guy was a friend of a friend. I never knew he was from the site. So we shared the apartment. The overall experience was good. But I only found out later she or her friend did not really know this guy.
Other than this indirect experience I cannot say I have tried this before. I have rented/shared my apartment on Airbnb and other sites (such as Craigslist) so I am familiar with screening and sharing. But I do not have much Couchsurfing experience.
I am looking forward to meet great people through this site though.
Interests
As I said before, I love movies (documentaries, independent, etc). I enjoy reading and talking about the media in general. I like writing and reading as well. I am not too much a social butterfly. Prefer day than night events but of course enjoy music and dancing. I love nature and meeting people as learning about cultural and historical events as well.

Some of the bands I enjoy: Cold Play, U2, Vampire Weekend, etc Mostly rock, pop, classical but overall ecletic.

Teach, Learn, Share
I love teaching language and learning as well. I would like to learn more about living a "location independent" lifestyle, as I said before.
