Overview
About Me
I was born and raised in a remote village (Zahedan) in South East Iran. Then spent my high school years in Tehran, before moving to United States for college. After college, I worked for IBM, Apple , started a software company (Objectware) and now run The Urban Farmers, a grassroots non-profit organization in the San Francisco Bay Area, where we harvest excess backyard fruit for donation to the hungry.
I have an amazing son who is 25 years-old and is the largest experience of my life. My family, dating back for more than 2,500 years, has been Zoroastrians. After the fall of the Shah in Iran, my family left Iran, and settled in San Francisco area. I have over 145 close family members. Each month, I go to a child-birth, a wedding or a funeral.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
People are the highlight of traveling and what an honor to be invited to a local resident's home. I also want to couch surf in countries where the government makes money off of the tourists but do not take care of their people. Instead of spending my money to line the pockets of corrupt officials, I rather spend all of it with the locals.
