About Me
My husband and I live in a house with a big garden on the countryside about 30 minutes from Zurich. If you're interested in getting to know regions off the tourist paths, if you share a love for art, nature and cuisine and want to meet up with Swiss German locals, contact me to see if our couch is available. We are two very active people and often on the road.
I'm a Swiss German native, born and at home in a rural part of the country. I have been teaching French and Latin at a high school for 13 years now. I'm passionate about music, literature and cinema: I spend most of my free time singing or listening to music or reading books and I love to share this passion with others. I sometimes write when I'm in the right mindset (which is often hard during stressful school periods).
I also do some sports: Indoor Cycling (am also an instructor), participate in group fitness classes like Combat, Zumba or Yoga, go swimming, biking and hiking. I love to be outdoors, away from "civilisation" - specially in the mountains or at one of the beautiful Swiss lakes.
When travelling, I vary between stays in big cities and on the countryside. In the cities, I can plunge into book and (analogue) game stores for hours, be amazed by all the cultural and artistic activities, soak up the atmosphere and meet new interesting and open-minded people. Just walking around and spontaneously discover places and events is something I often do. On the countryside (or at the beach) on the other hand, I enjoy the calm, time on my own to relax, read, let my thoughts flow, write...
