I am currently doing my PhD in Ecology, with research focus on grasslands and drought. I'm passionate about the intersections of science, history, education and social justice, and figuring out my way forward with those interests in an often dark, but always beautiful work.

Deeply involved in Indian classical music, specifically Hindustani music. I have been learning the Tabla for around 12 years now, a slow but constant part of my life journey.
I love reading epic fantasy and science fiction - rich, well constructed story worlds to be immersed in. Brandon Sanderson, Patrick Rothfuss, Ursula Le Guin, Steven Erikson etc.

Lived for 4 months in a village at 4200 m altitude in the Himalayas, while doing field work for my MS dissertation. Living with the lovely folks of Kibber, Spiti, has built ever lasting relations and changed my life. We climbed up a 6000 m peak for my friend's birthday there!
The next year, I went for a 10 day Vipassana residential teaching in rural Andhra Pradesh - 10 days of complete silence, and 10-14 hours of meditation each day. It was an amazing experience, one that I hope to return to again.
