About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To meet people and give back to a world that has been very generous to me over the years
ABOUT ME
What to say... I am an open and friendly person with a wide range of interests, and was attracted by the CS philosophy of 'saving the world one couch at a time'. Throughout my travels I have greatly benefitted from the hospitality of other people: staying in other people's places in France, Italy and even Japan, and it is high time that I began to repay that debt to the world at large!
I am a trainee journalist currently working at the BBC, and am part of a successful London theatre group, who I produce and perform with, so what with one thing and another, I have a good knowledge of UK culture and things that are going on in the capital.
PHILOSOPHY
I get a lot of practical philosophy from the books of Charles Dickens. Lots of quotes to follow here
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
At the moment I am unable to offer a couch to people, but I may be able to help show people round London, meet up for a coffee, get them free theatre tickets, etc. And the couch position may change!!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
One weekend I was staying with my friend Ben in North London, and there was a young coachsurfer called Courtney who was staying in the house, having met the landlady a couple of weeks before in Poland. We got talking and asked if we could accompany her on a trip of London. As we were all short of money we walked... 7 hours later we had been on a 15 mile round trip that took in Soho, the British Museum, the National Gallery, Hyde Park Corner, the (tail end of the) Notting Hill Carnival, and many other great sights and sounds of the capital. Courtney really enjoyed herself and so did we.
I'm not suggesting to repeat the 15 mile aspect, but it was a great experience and I would love to do it again sometime.
Interests
Lots really... big things like 'Culture' and 'History', but also music, comedy, the odd pint (increasingly ale, can't seem to handle strong continental lagers), different radio shows.
