ABOUT ME
I'm living in Jerusalem for a short time, with goals to travel, read, draw, and write. I visited Israel last year and loved it, so I came back to live with a friend for a while. I'm an archivist and love Russian history and literature. I also run and hike and am happy to be somewhere relatively warm for the winter so that I can spend more time outdoors!
PHILOSOPHY
Create your own reality. Find opportunities, believe in possibilities.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I met a few couchsurfers in Israel and was hosted in Jerusalem. It was a great experience.
Interests
Nature! I try to go hiking or backpacking as much as possible. I'm learning Russian and hope someday to know 5 languages (a very long-term goal).

Music, Movies, and Books
I read a lot of Russian literature, my favorites being Dead Souls by Gogol, The Master and Margarita by Bulgakov, My Half-Century by Akhmatova, and Lolita by Nabokov. I also love English and American lit--Jane Austen, Mark Twain, Oscar Wilde. I'm a big fan of Gabriel Garcia Marquez. I read books about writing and about the human experience, such as Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl. Read it. It will change the way you think.
I love indie music of the singer/songwriter variety. Lou Barlow, Mason Jennings, Hayden, M. Ward, Conor Oberst, Regina Spektor, Kate Nash. And whimsical bands with playful music--DeVotchka, Beirut, Decemberists, Shearwater, Bodies of Water.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Went inside the Red Pyramid in Egypt. Got insomnia during the White Nights in St. Petersburg. Road trip through Israel.
