Hi everyone! I'm Sierra, currently 20 years old and a music student at Berklee College of Music. I'll be living in Valencia, Spain for the next year and I'm looking for some awesome people to stay with while I'm traveling around Europe this summer.

I'm new to Couchsurfing but I'm ready to dive in! I'm really excited to meet new people and hopefully once I'm more sedentary I'll be able to host people as well.

I am currently studying songwriting (I primarily sing but also play the guitar and a little bit of piano). I am also interested in international politics and very passionate about environmental protection. I try to live pretty minimally and I avoid using plastic. I'm also vegan but am totally fine working around whatever food is available, so don't feel like feeding me will be a burden!

I'm here to meet people from around the world, to really connect with different cultures, and to form deeper relationships with the people from the cities I'm traveling to. I have found that staying with locals is a fantastic way to get to know a city and provides cool and unique insights I wouldn't have gotten staying in a hostel with other travelers. Couchsurfing allows you to get to know a country in a different way and I'm looking to have these kinds of unique experiences during my travels.

Favorite music?! How do I choose??! I hate classifying my music taste with genres because I feel like that never describes it well, but to give you a sense some of my favorite artists are: Lake Street Dive, Joni Mitchell, Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Wonder, Zaz, Natalia Lafourcade, Hiatus Kaiyote, No. 5, Jade Bird, Riz MC, Logic, Erykah Badu, and the Roots. I'm not picky about the type of music, just that there's spirit behind it. I'm always looking to discover new music, especially from other countries!

I'm much more of a book person than a movie person but I'm into cliché rom-coms, political dramas, and weird indie stuff as well. My favorite movie of the past year was either Lady Bird or Call Me By Your Name, but my go-to favorite is Moulin Rouge.

In terms of books, I LOVE magical realism so two of my all-time favorite books are House of Sprits by Isabel Allende and Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. However, I've been reading this book called Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer and I think it just might be my favorite book of all time. Its about Native American philosophies on human interaction with the environment and is so fascinating and written just absolutely BEAUTIFULLY. I love reading and would love to exchange books :)

I hiked Cotopaxi, a huge active volcano right outside of Quito, Ecuador. I went up 15,000 feet (about 4,500 meters) and almost DIED it was so hard. But SO worth it. The view from the top was probably the most beautiful view I've ever seen. And then I mountain biked down which was almost harder than hiking up! Overall an absolutely beautiful experience.
