Why I’m on Couchsurfing

i am new to couchsurfing, but i am a huge fan of meeting new, like minded people, and create unique memories while travelling. some of my closest friendships have formed over a shared living space, i think the opportunity is such an amazing way to deeply connect with others.
I also have always really enjoyed staying in hostels and getting to meet people from all over the world, but they arent so common in the US.

i have always been open to hosting friends and friends of friends, but i am also hoping to open my own home to visitors through the couchsurfing app after i return form my travels!

Music, Movies, and Books

my current favorite music genres are indie, punk, folk punk, and alternative. a huge part of my everyday activities are spent listening to music

for books i usually gravitate towards scifi and fantasy, but also really enjoy authors that have a unique writing style. some of my all time favorite authors are douglas adams and tom robbins.

some of my absolute favorite films are the labyrinth, the dark crystal, the neverending story, princess mononoke, and nausicaa of the valley of the wind. i always love a good movie night and being introduced to new, unique movies as well as sharing my favorites with others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

in 2023 i had the opportunity to backpack through guatemala and el salvador. it was an amazing experience getting to imurse myself fully into new cultures.
i spent a lot of time staying in hostels, where i met countless people from all over the world. i also was lucky enough to be invited into the homes of locals, where they taught me about the country and its history, and geography, as well as their life stories and so much more.
i used public transportation and hitchhiked through almost the entirity of both countries.
i learned spanish and tried foods i had never even heard of, and i got to spend so much time in nature that was so different from anything i had ever seen before.
i have a massive amount of photos and stories from this experience. i could go on for days!

Teach, Learn, Share

i love to teach others about sustainable fashion practices ~ like mending, making, and upcycling clothing. i would LOVE to teach you to sew :)

sharing recipes & meals is one of my favorite things about spending time with new people

i have an endless fascination for learning new things and really enjoy being around others who can relate or reciprocate! i want to learn as much as possible in my lifetime. currently, i would very much enjoy being able to learn and practice spanish!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I do my absolute best to be the most considerate house guest always, I am extremely flexible when it comes to travelling and i feel like i am able to adjust very easily to my environment. i would love to cook meals together, explore the area, get to know each other, and help out with anything i can during my stay! i am also very content being alone, and am more than willing to keep to myself and do my own thing at any point in time.
