Hello! I am a twenty year old college student, currently in the middle of my fourth semester at Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi. I am a Theatre major with an emphasis on Acting/Directing; my minor is Women and Gender Studies. While both do not guarantee me a future when I graduate, I am doing what I love.
I have a big group of friends, and they are my support system, and I love them very much. It is one of those things where I would do literally anything for them, because they would do it for me. So I guess what I am saying is that friendship and loyalty is extremely important to me.
I love my family and I miss my mom and go back home whenever I get the chance. Basic values are central to me, and have made me who I am; a struggling curious artist.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to travel as much as I can, and I see no reason why I should not! I plan on traveling during the summer break with three of my best friends, and we are the typical broke and starving college students looking to save some money. This will be my first time traveling on my own, and making all the arrangements by myself has been daunting. I bought a travel tip book and discovered this website and thought it was worth a try. So here I am! On the search for a place for me and my three friends.

Interests

Since my major is Theatre, it can be assumed that I have a passion for theatre. I love the stage and everything it has to offer, it's unlike anything else in the world. Within the theatre, I am both and actor and a designer. This semester, my roommate/best friend (also one of the travel buddies) have tackled the task of costume designing a major production (two actually)!
Along with that, I love to dance. I danced when I was younger, it has followed me to college and I am loving every second of it. I am currently taking three dance classes through the University, and my feet are taking it like champs.
A fun tidbit about me- I knit! It makes me happy. I make a silly amount of scarves and beanies for myself and my friends, constantly trying to improve my skills.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music tastes vary greatly, but recently I have been discovering new music and listening to that until I find more new music! I do like Male Singer/Songwriters (like every other girl), quite a bit.
Rom-Coms are by far my favorite types of movies (i.e.- 10 Things I Hate About You, 500 Days of Summer, About Time) and I am a hardcore Netflix binger.
I love to read, and try to pleasure read as often as I can. With classes, it is hard to have time to read non scholastic books, but when I have the chance I am slowly working through the pile of unread books on my desk.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was able to perform in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival as an actor two years ago. It was the most amazing time of my life, and that is where my urge to travel was born. I wanted to go wherever I wanted, and to see the whole world. We were in Scotland for two weeks, and I wanted to stay longer. I was amazed at how different things were, and how much I loved the differences. The people, the climate, and the general feel was like nothing I had ever experienced before. The festival was exhilarating, and performing in the biggest arts festival IN THE WORLD was mind boggling. Seeing a whole different part of the world was new, and like a breath of fresh air. I want to experience that again and again, so this is my attempt.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I (and my friends) would love to help with upkeep and cooking (although expect some college meals) and I will bring a knitted item with me. We can bring laughter and friendship into your home, because we foster that within our group. We would not be rowdy or unmanageable, as we would be VERY grateful to those that opened their homes to us.
