ABOUT ME
AT THIS TIME I am really, really, really busy and I hate having to constantly be declining requests, but I will be more available soon.
Hello! I am a fashion designer/seamstress/model/photographer residing in the hip and fun subdivision of Bay View in Milwaukee. In Bay View you will find yourself only a short drive from Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward and attractive and bustling downtown. Bay View is an up-and-coming area with many bars, restaurants and fun little shops. I moved to Milwaukee (after growing up in Racine and then moving to La Crosse for 5.5 years) in August, and have acclimated to living in a big city rather well. There are a lot of architectural gems, artsy hotspots, and great places for entertainment here. There's never a shortage of things to do, and I would love to share new experiences with you!
Other than fashion, I really love going to concerts, antiquing, carnival/vaudeville/burlesque shows, events with the local Steampunk/Lolita communities, stand-up comedy, museums, staring at beautiful buildings, shopping, doing photo shoots/fashion shows, and catching up on my favorite programs.
PHILOSOPHY
You only have one opportunity to make every day the best day ever.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I want to open my home to people who want to see a side of the US (and part of Milwaukee) that most people pass over when travelling through the country. Wisconsin is awesome if you give it a chance!
However, if you are younger than 21, it is going to be a challenge to give you the full Milwaukee experience, as we pride ourselves on our beer/bar culture.
You will almost be guaranteed delicious homecooked meals.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I had a hitchhiker stay with me once and he was very interesting and so nice. He taught me how to play a G Chord on a mandolin! Since then, I've hosted several other people as well, who I showed around town and made sure they drank only excellent beer.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love jazz, classical, alternative, dubstep, electronic, rock...lots of different types of music! I really like horror, drama and comedy movies, and most of the books I read are on travel or fashion history. I wish I had time to read fiction!
Some of my favorite artists include Tom Waits, Gotye, Garmarna, OhLand, Skrillex, Hanson, Bush/90's rock/grunge, Ours, Benny Benassi, Benny Goodman, Bunny Berigan, The Three Louis (Jordan, Prima, Armstrong), Radiohead, My Chemical Romance, Florence & the Machine, The Black Keys, Muse, Queens of the Stone Age, Lady Gaga, and of course many, many more.
I enjoy horror movies (well, the good ones - most of them are garbage), comedies (again, good ones are few and far between) and dramas. Some of my favorite programs include The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Office, Oddities, Grimm, Once Upon A Time, Dexter, Breaking Bad, Daily Show/Colbert Report, America's Next Top Model, Being Human, Adventure Time with Finn & Jake, and just about every cartoon ever.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I do pretty cool stuff quite frequently. Just ask to see all of the magazines my work has been published in, or what it's like doing urban exploration while wearing pony boots.
I also went to the Netherlands in July of 2012 and January 2013 and stayed for the better part of a month. I saw so many cities, drenched myself in the culture to the point of willfully purchasing and consuming salmiak, and took 3200 photos that I'd love to show any guest.

Teach, Learn, Share
I love blathering on about fashion history, The Netherlands, factoids about just about anything, what it's like to have a little brother with Autism, and much more. I love also teaching colorful slang to those whose native language is not English.
