About Me
I'm Silvia, from Italy, but I always live in different places!
I study psychology. I love traveling, getting out my “safe zone / comfort zone”, getting to know new cultures through new people; taste new foods, new emotions; I want to open my mind more and more and see as many places as possible! I want friends all over the world, I want to learn languages well, I want to live in many different places. These are my dreams..I am made of dreams!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
What I mean to travel:
leave with a few clothes and insert them inside a backpack; decide a destination at the last moment, sleep in hostels with eight other people (that then I never sleep because someone snores). Have a spirit of adaptation and adventure. To rent a car and drive with or without a destination, to where your heart is. Sleep at home of strangers making new beautiful friendships that last over time. Fill my head with images that I will never forget..and even my camera!
Sleep in tents and observe the stars and the milky way, learn new cultures and new languages, see weird things, which for me are weird but for others they are right. To eat new food..and share ideas, thoughts.
I travel to not become blind.
I'm scared when I travel because it becomes an addiction.
Many people ask me how do I manage to travel so often, which isn’t what I would like, it's not done 'often', but anyway: I don’t do shopping, I don’t buy expensive tables and couches, all the money I save I put them aside for a future destination, and this doesn’t weigh at all for me..why should do?
“Study, instead of always traveling, that you waste time." Do I waste time?
I know that in Morocco, if they offer you a cup of tea and you don’t accept it, they would feel bad, I know that there the fruit isn’t contaminated and if you eat it you really feel the taste. I know that in Cuba people are “open-air-prisoners” that the salary of a doctor is equivalent to 30€ a month and tomatoes cost 3€.
I know that in Finland foreign students study for free and drink beer in the morning as a glass of water, and this applies to all of Scandinavia. I know that the Croats are strange and the Mexicans are very friendly. Once I lost a flight and I learned not to lose more, another time I got a fine and how many times I didn’t sleep..so many! I like learning to live in this way, do I waste time?
I prefer being a traveler, not a tourist.
