About Me

Ciao!

I am a vet, i worked in a pet clinic in Parma (one of Italy's culinary "strongholds").

One of my greatest passions is travelling and getting in touch with different cultures (when I am not busy with soothing animals); this is probably something that sprouted within myself during my youth in Bolzano/Bozen, in a region renowned for the peaceful coexistence of Italian and German-speaking peoples.
I love "hunting out" those people or sub-cultures in which global and local aptitudes converge; the represent for me the ultimate gateway to learning the very regional cultures I could never get in touch which otherwise.

So far I only made it to travel to some countries in North and South Europe, Mexico, USA, Australia but am yearning for hitting Asia first, then those too-many countries I have not had the luck to travel to yet.

I am looking forward to meeting more and more couch-surfers in their home countries and, whenever I leave my lovely 'studio flat', absolutely as their cicerone at my own place.

Arrivederci!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Visiting a country or a town cannot merely mean taking pictures of soulless buildings; Tourism, when married to Culture, means chattering, listening, smelling, observing...
Couchsurfing means all of this to me: in one only room or apartment two distant edges of the world can get to meeting and to experiencing each other.

Interests

How to just "list" one's own interests?
I love photography, teaching (dogs...), cookery...trying and speaking other languages...dancing lindy hop, watching horror movies...seeking out "awkward differently-tourist spots" around the world (check out Jeffrey's Hook lighthouse in New York City!), taste uncommon food...
