Hi! I'm Silvia, a 19-year-old girl who was born and raised in Brazil. I've never been outside the country. I study History in college and I'm on vacation now, so I thought I might as well gather new experiences and just make it a lot of fun, I guess. I'm quite shy at first, but I'm usually in a great mood and like to meet new people and go out exploring.

Because I'm deeply curious about not only places and cultures but people themselves. I want to know as much as I possibly can about the whole being-alive experience and I'd like to share and connect with others because it makes sense to me. It's my purpose or whatever. Makes me feel less empty.

I really like to read. And watch movies, and see artists. Street artists have a special place in my heart. I study History but I plan to major in Anthropology, which is the study of cultures. I'm really passionate about that. Other than this I like having deep talks, discussing the Universe and listening to childhood memories and life stories. I really enjoy trying new things too.

I listen to many kinds of music but specially enjoy folk, middle east traditional music, the soundtrack to Himalaya, Kings of Convenience, Keaton Henson, The Smiths, The Cure, Belle & Sebastian

I like drama movies and ones that make me think.
I hate Transformers but if you're reeeeally into that I may try and be friends might even smile while I silently judge your life choices.

I love books that are direct and crude and I can feel part of my soul dying when I finish the reading. That'd be Hemingway, Oscar Wilde, Lovecraft, Virginia Woolf, Sylvia Plath, Leminski, Philip Pullman, Neil Gaiman and apparently Amanda Palmer too. If you haven't read The Art of Asking yet, I highly recommend it.

Well I used to be incredibly shy and just before I turned 15 I decided that I didn't want to be like that anymore. So on my way home from school that day I picked a random person walking down the street (that seemed to be around the same age) and said hi. It was scary as hell, but also fun. We got along well and became friends, and that's a very important memory to me even now, 4 years later.

I'd love to learn how to whistle - and I really am serious about that I wish I was joking. To be honest I'm interested in mostly anything you want to teach me. Science? Maths, Physics, Chemistry? Ok I can handle it. Anthropology/Sociology/Arts/History/Geography? I'd love to I hope you don't mind me sobbing though because of all the happiness. I want to learn manual skills too as well, fixing stuff and building/carving things out of wood and ok I guess I'm going a little crazy here the thing is: Anything you want to share, I'd probably be more than happy to listen.
I don't know if I can teach much, but I do learn fast and can try to help you with anything you need help with. And give emotional support, I'm good at that. I can even bake cookies, really.
I've also mastered the art of using coffee machines.

(I'VE JUST REMEMBERED I KNOW A LITTLE ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY, I can teach you that! I've got a nice camera called Donnie Rose and it would be awesome if you'd let us take pictures of you just so I can practice)

I can take pictures, look after your pets/plants, babysit, cook, clean and do house chores in general, help you practice Portuguese, Spanish or English, share everything I know about History and Anthropology and draw you something pretty.
If you're willing for me to do those things, of course
I promise I won't babble on about Cheyennes if you specifically stated you don't care about american aborigines.
At least not loudly.
