ABOUT ME

In January 2010 I moved to this charming small city Freiburg for my PhD in biology doing cancer research. So, I'm deeply interested in life science, biology and medicine otherwise I wouldn't have been motivated enough to start a bad-payed and time-consuming PhD. When I'm not working you normally find me on the way, it's actually hard to catch me lazy at home. Unfortunately a day has only 24 hours, which is not enough for everything I like to do: there is sports (badminton, beach volleyball, gym, biking and I recently started with capoeira and climbing), learning salsa, improving my Spanish. I enjoy to go out clubbing or drinking a beer (after all I'm from bavaria!) with my friends. And of course: Whenever there is time I'm travelling to meet all kind of people on my way. I always try to see the world with open eyes! Ignorance is never a bliss!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Whenever I can arrange with my labwork: meet me to visit Freiburg, go hiking in the black forest, enjoy a beer with a fantastic view over the city, go dancing, exchange experiences or just spend some nice time together.

I guess every CSer does: I love to meet people from all over the world!!! This was one of the reasons for me to move to Freiburg, as I'm part of an international graduate school here! So, because I cannot travel all the time, I at least have several parts of the world around me through my friends :)

Gelotology = science of laughter. When we smile, 24 of our facial muscles move, and around 100 muscles in the whole body are in action. 20 seconds of giggling means that we use up energy similar to the one needed for three minutes of rowing.
