CURRENT MISSION
to teach english in Asia, and learn french
ABOUT ME
i'm a chilled out, easy going aussie. I love having a good laugh over a beer with sum mates, simple. i'd like to think that my travel/life experience has opened my mind and has made me become more tolerant and accepting of other cultures and other ways of life. i'm spiritual but not religious, i'm a dreamer and am pretty carefree but have an arsenal of conspiracy theories stuffed up my sleeve, I hate the fact that we live in a monetary system.
The friends that i have made throughout my travels are what keeps me ticking, i love to get out of my comfort zone and get that 'what am i doing here??' feeling. if you are the type of person who doesn't let prejudices cloud their judgement, we will get along great!! let's have a beer and contemplate the universe :-)
PHILOSOPHY
"Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's need, but not every man's greed." –Gandhi
"The world is my country, all mankind are my brethren, and to do good is my religion."
Thomas Paine (1737 - 1809)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I dont have a couch available at the moment, i've been living and travelling in Europe for the past three years and just moved back into my parents house in Brisbane (yippee!!) as soon as we get enough cash together my girlfriend and I want to move somewhere closer to the city, and then...the madness begins!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've surfed in Galway (Rep. Ireland) and in Bangkok, while I lived in Dublin I became really involved in the couchsurfing scene there, always up for going along to gatherings and hosting parties at my place. we hosted some couchsurfers at my flat but that was through my flatmates involvement in couchsurfing.
Interests
travelling, travelling, travelling!!! i like to see and experience new things, experience different cultures, eat different food, listen to different music, see new sights, (try) to speak different languages, drink different beers and immerse myself in the unknown and the un-familiar, i love street art and graffiti..this planet is a blank canvas!....i love the beach...beer on a hot day (or any day, but hot days make it better) i like to read, i like to cook, i like to listen and share life/travel experiences, i like to write too.

Music, Movies, and Books
i like any movie that is based on the mafia or organised crime like the godfather trilogy, goodfellas, donnie brasco, casino....all that type of thing.
i love travel literature, my favourite authors include bill bryson, peter moore, Pete McCarthy, alain de botton, tim moore, paul theroux, sarah mcdonald...i like poetry by william wordsworth,
i like any music that is not manufactured crap that is spawned by tv shows like 'x factor'....i love anything from ska, hiphop, reggae, punk, blues, jazz, breakbeat, house, dubstep, techno, electro
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I did a Japanese homestay in Tokyo for a week when I was in high school, a real eye opener...was my first major solo travel experience.
The 'Running of the bulls' at the 'Fiesta San Fermin' in Pamplona, Spain in 2006.
I lived on the greek island of 'Kos' for 6 months in 2007 as a bartender/promoter, 6 months of sun and booze and not much sleep...wicked.
I had a foot massage by 'Dr. Fish' in Siem Reap, Cambodia in 2009, basically you put your feet in a big spa-like thing and hundreds of tiny fish eat your dead skin for 15 minutes, luvly.
Teach, Learn, Share
My girlfriend is french so I'm trying my best (although she'll probably disagree :-p) to make a start on learning the language, also we're both starting to learn how to spin poi's.
