About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My current mission? Find myself maybe. I'm attempting to acheive this, by being continually in a creative and curious mood. Traveling, reading, visiting art exhibits, meeting new people...are all parts of this quest. :)

ABOUT ME

Hi! I'm Simona, a girl from the very heart of Italy, Tuscany. I live in Arezzo, a city just 1h from Florence. Little tip for the most of you who probably don't know: Arezzo is the town where Benigni's "Life is beautiful" was shot in 1997...this is somehow a pride for me, I love that film :).

I'm currently working on my master thesis in Interaction Design (which is a kind of design oriented basically to experiences with technologies, installations and digital devices) and I'm planning to achieve my final degree in july '11.
I'm very into art, graphics, illustrations and generally any existing nuance of visual experiences and culture.

I love traveling a lot (and have traveled quite a lot too in my life, thanks also to my real globetrotters kinda parents :) ).

I love music and go to gigs (so, while visiting a new town I would really appreciate to go to a concert, if it is really worth it)...
Among my favourite genres: rock/prog 70's music (Pink Floyd is my favourite group ever!...then Led Zeppelin, King Crimson, Genesis, Emerson Lake & Palmer and so on...), jazz, indie rock, some electronics too...and some unavoidable names like Radiohead, Sigur Ros, Coldplay...and many many more!

I adore cinema and I'm a very into "little cultural niche films"...generally avoiding mainstream and american stuff (depending on the quality, obviously).

And, I have to say it, my favourite film ever is Jeunet's "Amelie", which I've seen tons of times!

I'm quite timid, but I can be a real storm of cheerfulness if you just give me the time... :)

I lived 5 months in Denmark (in Aarhus) from January to June 2010...and I found it an incredible experience!

PHILOSOPHY

Life means enjoying every single second of it.
Life is growing and being day by day richer. And with "richer" I mean, richer of culture. Because culture makes Man free and aware of who he is and what is part of.

Life is beautiful, if we just want it to be.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I currently don't have any space to host people, but I'm resolute to do it as soon as I will be able to.
I'm persuaded that CS philosophy is the one that should inspire the entire world.

CS is the best way to know other cultures and places, with little amount of money. Is to say, the best way to obtain cultural (and personal) richness. Not the economical type of richness, but this is not something I'm interested in to.

I hope to contribute to let CS community grow and be something really strong one day...first of all, as a philosophy of living, for, if not all, the majority of the people of the world. :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm a real newbie in CS, but I'm convinced that, being a person who easily adapts to situations and has a lot of low budget traveling experiences, I will enjoy CouchSurfing a lot!
