About Me

Married since May 2017, I'm on a one year honeymoon with my wife, traveling all around the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is an opportunity for me to meet new people and thus to discover new way of living. I'm a very curious person, so I'm always happy to discover something new. (As far as it doesn't hurt, of course.)

Interests

I discovered indoor rock climbing when I was 11 y.o. I participated to many competitions until discovering outdoor climbing when I arrived in Grenoble for my studies. I then enjoyed many mountaineering sports such as caving, canyoning, hike skiing, ice climbing, paragliding and so on, until meeting my wife who brought me with her to Lille. There I started scuba diving, which is another really funny sport.

Aside of this main sport life, I played in a music band for 3 years as guitarist, and studied drums for 6 years.

I also like playing chess sometimes, since my father taught me the rules when I was 8 y.o. My current ELO rating is 1100 on chess.com. Not so good, but enough to have fun. In the same category, I like Rubik's Cube, Sudoku, and puzzles in general.

I'm a special kind of geek, who likes to be outdoor and to do some sport, and who can spend hours programming some software without noticing it. My Phd thesis, about rock climbing motion analysis, is a good illustration of how geek I am: https://hal.inria.fr/tel-01395561/

Music, Movies, and Books

I like action movies, and pop rock music. I'm not reading so often. The last movie I saw was Interstellar, for the second time. In this movie, I like the fact that it could actually happen in a couple of years, and to imagine that some engineers would be able one day to build such space crafts.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

You can follow all our adventures on worldintroduction.wordpress.com . For the moment, my favourite adventure is having seen both a sunset and a moonrise the same evening while hiking the Fuji mount.

Teach, Learn, Share

Did you know that in California, the Geysers Geothermal Power Plant Complex has a capacity of 1517MW, which is more than the Seabrook Nuclear Power Plant for instance, and it uses only the Hearth natural temperature to produce electricity.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can propose to any person who hosts me, to cook some French diner if he or she wants, as I like cooking very much.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, China, England, Germany, Ireland, Mongolia, Nepal, Poland, Russian Federation, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland

Countries I’ve Lived In
