I consider myself a very friendly and open minded person, who is seeking to expanding his horizon by meeting people from all over the world. In the last 10 years as a Navy officer I was very happy to visit several counties I would never have traveled to privately. The different cultures, landscapes and lifestyles I encountered since then fascinated me. Through my experiences abroad I may have developed what we call the „serenity a well traveled man“, but I also kept my curiosity towards foreign countries, culture and of course foreign food. I learned that getting to know the locals and exchanging each other’s stories is the best and most profitable way to really getting to know the country and its people. When I heard of „Couchsurfing“ and the positive experiences people made by doing it, I always wanted to test it out. I‘m very thankful that people are willing to share a part of their homes with strangers they don‘t know in the name of intercultural understanding. I hope I can not only benefit from that as a guest but to contribute to the success of Couchsurfing by making other people’s journeys a memorable experience.
