About Me

Meeting new friends, seeing new ways to live

I'm from Montreal originally. I've been living in the North-East for a while, and just recently moved from Durham to Newcastle to have a more urban life.

I love travelling, and I'm a big movie buff. Always happy to hang out and meet new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have done some hosting. I was in Paris this spring and used couchsurfing extensively to find people to hang out with. Haven't surfed yet.

I enjoy having visitors and staying with people. My experiences hosting so far have all been positive.

Movies. I love going to the cinema, and having a decent movie theatre again was one of the main reasons I moved from Durham to Newcastle.

I enjoy outdoor activities, particularly hiking and cycling. I used to do a lot of photography, and have been trying to get back into that.

Music, Movies, and Books

Best movies I saw this year: Amour, Wadjda, Sugar Man.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I used to live in Santa Barbara, in California, and would often see dolphins swimming in the ocean just off the coast. They are the most amazingly playful, seemingly carefree animals.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a theoretical physicist, and can talk about string theory all night if you're interested. I'm a reasonably good cook, and happy to share my approach and favourite recipes.

I'm a keen cyclist, but started this relatively late in life so would love to learn from other more experienced cyclists.
