About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Have fun!

ABOUT ME

I go by many names... Simon will do for now. I am an optimistic extrovert that likes to get shit done. I always have a number of projects on the go, and even more ideas in my brain. Im creative, passionate and driven. I love our planet, and the beautiful conscious beings that walk it. I'm always trying to find ways to care for this organic spaceship, as we only have one, and I try to have the lowest impact I can. I'm motivated in self-education, and I enjoy reading new ideas, research and books, as well as engaging in nourishing conversation with other intelligent beings...which is one of the reasons I love couchsurfing.

PHILOSOPHY

I can't change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination. -Jimmy Dean

"Tourists don't know where they have been, travellers don't know where they are going"

Music, Movies, and Books

currently reading: More Than Two by Franklin Veaux and Eve Rickert

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

* Tokyo, Japan....because...TOKYO!

*entered a Chilli eating competition (I didn't win...but is there really a winner?)

*rode the trans Siberian railway from Moscow to Beijing

*hitch hiked across Ireland

*Worked as a live-in Au Pair for a family in Catalonia Spain.

*explored the catacombs under Paris

*Rooftop New Years Eye countdown in Copenhagen with best friends from NZ, and people I had met just hours earlier. The whole city let off fireworks as the clock struck midnight. 360 degree HUGE fireworks display!

*Christmas in Sweden with my kiwi bros. Shoveling snow and cutting down a scrawny looking Christmas tree to decorate.

*Visiting the pacific island of Samoa, our taxi driver began falling asleep at the wheel after working a night shift. So I ended up driving this busted-up taxi halfway around the island (no idea where I was going) with this Samoan chief passed out in the back seat

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you almost everything you need to know about home brewing beer! I also have a very good knowledge of beer styles. Lets taste some beer? I speak very good english, and can help you develop your speech. I know a few good drinking games too.
