About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live the life I have always dreamed of... then share it with the people I care about most!

ABOUT ME

I am a young citizen of the world with a very international background and deep love for travel. I graduated from the University of Vermont in 2010 and spent the summer backpacking around South America with one of my favorite people in the world and best friend from high school, Mariya.
I lived in Chicago for a glorious two years, but moved back to New Jersey to be closer to family. I'm getting used to suburban life again but mischievously finding a way to make traveling the world my profession.

PHILOSOPHY

Why frown when it takes less muscles to smile!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I tell people about CouchSurfing, the best way i can describe it is a network of great, open minded people tha want to share share their passions, share their their cities and share their homes. Some of my favorite people are CouchSurfer and I owe them so many fabulous memories.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I found out about CouchSurfing as I was about to leave for my backpacking trip in Summer 2010. My travel partner and I stayed with and met a few couch surfers during travels. That's when I started believing in the network.
When I got back from my trip I was freaking out about moving to Chicago. I didn't know anyone in Chicago and I had just spent all of my money on my trip. Luckily, a CouchSurfer saved the day and hosted me for a few days while I looked for apartments in Chicago. It was so nice to know someone in such a big city and to learn a little bit more about the place I was soon going to call home.
Once in Chicago, I knew no one and with a little love from some amazing CouchSurfers that took a chance on me, I have made some of the best, last friends an adventurous girl could ask for. So I owe CouchSurfing a lot and would love to find a way to give back more.

Interests

One of my biggest passions is salsa dancing (and really dancing of all kinds). I started dancing in college and definitely got hit with the salsa bug. I love to teach, perform and social dance. I'm actively taking advantage of the Chicago salsa scene and have had some great opportunities to perform with a local performance team.

I love to travel (obviously)! I have lived quite an international life so far and I look forward to continuing on my worldly path. Although I have touch all the continents (with the exception of Antarctic), I still have a lot more exploring to do!

I love animals, especially dogs! My family breeds golden retrievers so my home has always been filled with little bundles of Golden joy. Now living in the city, I really miss the unconditional love and undying enthusiasm of a furry friend!

I love to cook and experiment in the kitchen. I believe very strongly in nourishing your body from the inside out and I like it when a meal warms you from the inside. As my former roommates know well, I also love to host and treat people to a good meal.

Other interests: Scuba diving, swimming, keeping plants alive in my apartment, going to farmers markets, watching sunsets (and sunrises), hiking and trekking, going out to dinner, working out, ikea furniture, foodie side of life in Chicago...
