About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn what true happiness means to me, and work to achieve it.

ABOUT ME

I'm an entrepreneur with fingers in many pots from business consulting to fashion accessories to book publishing. I sing a lot. I run a Heat Respite program for the homeless. Am currently writing a children's book. I feel lucky and blessed; work hard, and laugh even harder.

PHILOSOPHY

"I don't know what your destiny will be, but one thing I know: the only ones among you who will be really happy are those who will have sought and found how to serve." -- Albert Schweitzer

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Love it!

Interests

I sing with the Valley Chamber Chorale in Phoenix, and also in church. As Outreach director at church, I work to raise funds and serve the homeless community in downtown Phoenix. Love cooking, and having friends over for feasting and camaraderie. Enjoy planting, yard work (most days). I love to read and write, and ride my bike. I sell scarves and fashion accessories, and am brand manager for a publishing company.

Music, Movies, and Books

I recently saw "Boyhood" and was seriously impressed, and the Japanese movie "Kumiko, The Treasure Hunter" because I heard about in on SnapJudgement -- excellent! What movies do I see again and again? Dances with Wolves, Gladiator, Air Force One, Bull Durham, The Hunt for Red October, It's a Wonderful Life, The Sound of Music, and anything from Hitchcock. Last book I read was "Wild" by Cheryl Strayed. As for music, I believe in old-school rock and roll.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I recently took a trip to southeastern Arizona, up Mount Lemmon and down into Karchner Caverns. I was blown away by the sights and sounds of the Sky Island Parkway in the Santa Catalina Mountains, and the amazing ancient, pristine caves underground. It was a "geology lesson" I won't soon forget.

Teach, Learn, Share

TEACH: I doubt I can teach you anything, unless maybe it is how to be generous and hospitable.
LEARN: That will be up to you, but the sum total of the things I don't know is vast!
SHARE: Within reason, what's mine is yours.
