About Me

find a host.

at the moment I am in Portugal traveling and volunteering and I hope to stay here for at least half a year.
I'm an easygoing person, sometimes a bit shy, but once you get to know me I'm quite fun. I notice little details and appreciate little things in which I find beauty. studied art and photography and I still shot some photos now and then, video too. had some of my works published online and exhibited, but looking forward to the next opportunities.
besides photography, another big passion of mine is cinema I have worked a bit in this industry, mostly from the technical side and less creative, unfortunately, but it still had given me the chance to meet people who create movies and also see many movies.
I also really enjoy listening to music and making playlists which I share, back in my home country I used to DJ sometimes in little places like bars and restaurants and also had a radio program for which I selected songs on alternative internet radio.
when it comes to literature I am trying to read once in a while when I find something that is interesting enough for me. writing is also a form of expressing myself and my inner world for me and I write my thoughts, opinions, short stories, and poems.
I’m a person who knows exactly what he likes and has very specific taste.
I have solid opinions about things and I am critical about things in the world, my home country and more.
Try to be ecological, and also I care about the welfare of animals, therefore I’m vegan.

I’m interested especially in Ancient Greek philosophy, but also Søren Kierkegaard and others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like meeting new people which I can share new experiences with. I think there is something alienated sometimes in staying in a hotel or hostel and it’s much nicer to stay with a local person welcomes you to his/her home. can totally change the entire experience.

Many experiences, some sweet, some sour.
I had the chance to meet interesting people from many different places, some I also had the chance of hosting.
got to practice my writing skills with customized couch requests.

I'm an intermediate vegan cook, music lover, film buff, photographer, slow reader, avid fruit and vegetable eater, fast language learner, writer, amateur translator

at this point, I feel it will be easier to list my favorite directors: Andrei Tarkovsky, Krzysztof Kieślowski, Nuri Bilge Ceylan, Miguel Gomes, Maren Ade, Andreas Dresen, John Cassavetes, Safdie brothers

usually, prefer indie cinema over commercial.

Music - classic rock, new wave, post-punk, blues, jazz, soul, folk, classic country, instrumental, acoustic, electronic (mostly stuff with synth)
galaxies 500, deerhunter, my bloody valentine, yo la tengo, vetiver, neil young, john prine, george harrison, the doors and more.

Books - Illusions, Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World, Kafka on the Shore, Franny & Zoe, Leviathan, In the Blink of an Eye

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Machu Picchu was incredible and breathtaking, especially when I climbed up one of the mountains there.
stretching my neck to see the world's trade center and be on top of it one month before it collapsed.

Teach, Learn, Share

Language exchange would be nice, I can share my knowledge in photography and maybe also teach.
