About Me
ABOUT ME
Recently graduated from University with a degree in Economics. Have suddenly found myself completely free from any real commitments or obligations and am frightened and excited all at once, but mostly just excited. I have no idea what my future holds and I wouldn't have it any other way. I shy away from the ordinary, and am terrified of the monotonous, the mundane, the routine. I understand there is no second time around, I only have one shot at this life thing and I vow to be happy. Traveling makes me happy. I wanna see the world, meet it's people, learn its languages, immerse myself in its cultures. The challenge now is for me to find some way to do that for a living...any ideas? I'm spontaneous and fearless (with the exception of some completely unreasonable fears like my fear of manikins and moths) and I love a good adventure.
PHILOSOPHY
Still working on it. It changes day to day. Right now it would be...
Always strive to be what is in your heart. Never settle for anything less than what you truly desire and do not what you think you should, but what you know you'll be happiest doing.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Just joined but am excited to begin. I love meeting people and hearing their stories, so whether you're in search of a couch or conversation I am more than happy to be accommodating. I'm pretty proud of my small beautiful hometown by the sea and love showing it off, so if you find yourself in my neck of the woods I'd be more than happy to take you around. I have hosted people in the past though unofficially. My roommate was the one with the profile but I encouraged her and welcomed each and every surfer enthusiastically. I am happy to finally be a part of this myself...officially now.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Just came back from CSing in Paris. Had a fantastic time. My experience has confirmed all the excellent things I've heard about this wonderful network. Looking forward to filling this space with more tales of the amazing experiences I'm about to have.
Interests
Oh boy...
I'm a huge nerd. I love the escape of a good book and the fact that it can be read anywhere. My favorite thing to do is take a book and a blanket to the beach (maybe a bottle of wine too). I also love word puzzles, and math and logic problems (I know I know). I am a total music nut. I credit it with having made parts of my life tolerable and at one point quit school to pursue a career in the music industry. I succeeded but put that career on hold to finish my degree as I'm told there is value in finishing things. Degree done I yearn to go back to music. It is my first original love. Nothing is more thrilling to me than being front and center at your favorite band's show amidst the other sweaty fans, singing and swaying as a single unit. I also adore being outdoors. Hiking, exploring, just taking it all in, it comes with the territory I suppose. Other than that photography is a new interest of mine, and I've taken up drawing and painting again. Oh and I love food, one of my favorite things about experiencing new cultures is trying their food!

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: I love period pieces because even if the dialogue is boring there is so much to look at. The intricate costumes, the age old technology, the funny hairstyles etc etc. I also love war films and mafia flicks and anything based on a historical event or a historical person. I'm always searching for a scary movie that actually scares me...I've yet to find it, though credit must be given to the Blair Witch Project as I believe I avoided camping for a year after watching it.
Music: Don't even get me started. I appreciate all forms of music. I can't get enough of music. From Debussy to Slayer...and everything in between.
Books: I like classics. I'm not much one for contemporary fiction. I love anything with an element of fantasy. To name a few...Pilgrim, The Historian, LOTR, Harry Potter, Siddhartha, To Kill a Mockinbird, Atlas Shrugged, I Claudius, Brave New World, The Chrysallids and on and on...
