Hi! Moi! Hej! Hola! Salut!

After staying away a whole year, I'm back! My name is still Siri, and I'm an 19-year-old Finnish girl from Helsinki, Finland. I lived and studied the academic year 2019-2020 in Turku, but this spring I got accepted to the University of Helsinki, so I'm returning to my beloved hometown, yay! :)

I'm a student of comparative literature. Honestly, I'm a shy bookgirl who loves to read and write. I'm secretly - or maybe not so secretly anymore - dreaming of becoming a real writer or poet and publishing books one day. Even though I'm shy, I am easy to be around. I'm a really friendly and helpful person and the most loyal friend. I get along with all kinds of people and cherish difference. :)

This spring I worked as a waitress at a restaurant, but because of the exceptional current situation, I lost my job. For now, I'm trying to find a new job and enjoy my vacation the best I can.

Besides my favourite thing in the whole wide world - literature -, I'm interested in languages, cultures, history and psychology. I love to make foreign friends and use different languages when speaking with them. And naturally, I love travelling. In my free time I also enjoy playing the piano, doing yoga and running. I love animals, especially dogs, but I have never owned a pet myself, though I do have grown up with two dogs. I also love long walks in the nature and go often to the great outdoors to calm my nerves and seek inspiration, either alone or with a good friend. :3

I speak fluently Finnish (my native language), English, Swedish and Spanish (pretty much). I have just started learning French. Please let me know while sending me a message, if you speak any of these languages (not English, though), because I'd love to practise my language skills some more!

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

Honestly, I signed up for Couchsurfing in the first place to find someone to host my friend and I on our interrail in 2018, but now I’m here to meet new people from different countries.

Unfortunately, I can't currently host anyone as I live with my family at the moment, and we don't really have any extra rooms or beds. Nevertheless, I'd love to meet some travellers of my age, so if you're visiting Helsinki, let me know! When not working, I can show you around my hometown. Or if you don't want to spend time with me, I can also only give you some tips where to go, what to see and where to eat etc. Don't hesitate to ask me! :)

音乐、电影和书籍

Music: I often listen to radio stations which play pop music, but besides that I love the following artists/bands: Avril Lavigne, Måns Zelmerlöw, Nickelback, Simple Plan, Mayday Parade, Linkin Park and Green Day. I also listen to Swedish pop/rap artists such as Norlie & KKV and Danny Saucedo. I'm a little fan of Eurovision Song Contest. :3

Movies: I'm more of a "book person" than a "movie person", meaning I prefer books to movies. Some films I like are La vita è bella (Life Is Beautiful), Les Misérables (2012 movie), Stand By Me, Star Wars movies and Pirates of the Caribbean.

Books: I read all kinds of books, mostly fiction and poetry. Here are some of my many favorites: The Book Thief, All the Light We Cannot See, Between Shades of Gray, Les Misérables, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Love Letters to the Dead, I'll Give You the Sun, Love Her Wild, The Dark Between Stars, The Last Night of the Earth Poems, You Get So Alone At Times That It Just Makes Sense, Peter Pan, Bröderna Lejonhjärta and Mio min Mio.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

In the summer 2019 I went for an interrail around central Europe with my French friend. We visited Poland, Germany, Austria, Italy and - finally - France. I made some new friends and saw wonderful things. I can’t wait to travel again like that!
