About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Get to the Netherlands, skateboard 1000km round the Netherlands, find a windmill, obtain new feet after wearing mine away, sleep. Eat lots.
ABOUT ME
I'm quiet and would rather listen than talk a lot of the time (though that doesn't mean I'm not happy to talk), I get on well with most people and can usually find a common interest :)
I'm a bit of an eccentric and am a fan of the idea that if it's worth doing it's worth over-doing/doing it right. I like adventure, I like good food and eat a lot of it, I like culture, history and intelligent conversation (even if I don't contribute much!). I have a definite nerdy streak but I can usually hide it well if I need to ;)
I'm creative and a bit of an artist at times. Bit of an adrenaline junky too...
PHILOSOPHY
Be polite and just keep pushing!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
How I participate? Err... I turn up at your door on a skateboard, amuse you with my bad Dutch and tales of South Africa and skateboarding on dual carriageways. I expect I'll be fairly sleepy if I've just skated 50 miles to get to you but if I stay with you more than one night we could go for a cruise in your town and maybe I can teach you to skate :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Not tried it yet - Looking forward to it though!
Interests
Skateboards! I skate long distance (we're talking hundreds of miles at a time sometimes - I do marathons for fun) and this is actually the reason I joined CouchSurfing.org - so I can meet interesting people like you and hopefully stay at your place while I skate round your country :)
I'm getting into slacklining but I'm not very good yet :P
I enjoy cooking Chinese food, digital painting/graphic art, amateur photography, woodwork and making things. I can sit for hours zoned out listening to music (love swing, jazz, blues and electro-swing but I like most anything) and admiring the ceiling. I can easily get lost in a good book if I make time but I'd rather be out on my board. Films are good, especially comedy!

Music, Movies, and Books
Too many to list. Off the top of my head favourites:
Film: Star Wars (IV-VI)
Music: Caravan palace
Book: The Hobbit
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Skateboarding 200 miles in 5 days in 2011 was a pretty big achievement, especially as I was ill at the time :P
It was very emotional to visit the kids at the LIV Village in South Africa. I got to go to he official opening ceremony of the village - it was moving and the views of the mountains of KwaZulu Natal were breath-taking.
Being 15 feet from a lion at a watering hole in the Kruger was exciting!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you pretty much anything you want to know about skateboards of all shapes and sizes. I'm not too shabby on photoshop or with a graphics tablet if you want to try digital painting or altering some incriminating photos. I have some basic woodworking knowledge and ability but I'm still learning that myself! I can talk English at you if you want to learn that though be warned: I'm Dyslexic and can't spell too well...
I'd like to try surfing (on a board, not a couch) at some point. I'm always up for learning more about digital painting techniques and I'd like to try sculpture too, wood or otherwise. If you have interesting wildlifes to hand (lions and tigers oh my) then I'm well up for having a look :)
Show me the music!
