About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finding fulfilling work in a new city!

ABOUT ME

I am a passionate person who wants the world to be better because I was here! I like to help people when I can, and I think that life is too short to spend time doing things that I don't believe in (i.e. accumulating stuff!). I describe myself as introverted but I definitely have an extrovert streak at times. I'm fairly self-contained and pretty easy to get along with.

PHILOSOPHY

First, do no harm.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Seeking help getting oriented in a new city!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

One of my dearest friends has hosted couchsurfers for a couple of years. And I know a few other people who've done it too. I'm stoked to try it out!

Interests

I am a writer who needs to write more. I also like to travel and would like to travel more! I enjoy spending time in the outdoors - biking and hiking particularly. I like having parties with my friends, playing soccer, and really like dancing (when the mood strikes me). I love reading (I am a news geek), spending time with myself thinking, and learning about things that pique my curiosity.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching the USA play Germany in the 2002 World Cup in a tiny dive bar in East Berlin with a bunch of Germans! It was an amazing experience as we just happened to be in Berlin for the game, and no one expected the USA to get past the first round that year. The game was great - very close - but the Germans won 1-0. Afterward, one of the German fans came up to me and said 'the Americans should have won that game'. Proud to be an American soccer player that day!

Last week I got to go sailing with some friends - and I'd never been on a sailboat before. Sailing past Trial Island in the Juan de Fuca Straight on a sunny Canada Day with some of my favorite people just blew my mind! And then we anchored and had the funnest afternoon singing, dancing and talking. Great memories!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm happy to help people edit their writing, or play soccer. I could even teach them how to drive a forklift!
I'd like to learn to play the drums and dance a tango.
