ABOUT ME

I am some what of an adventure seeker. After graduating from university, I took a job on a remote island in the pacific (RMI). After that I travelled the US visiting family and crashing on their couches. Then I moved to Istanbul where I was doing international sales for a manufacturing company. I was the only non-Turk working here. Now, I unfortuneately live in southeast Texas (Beaumont). It's not the best place to live, but I have a good job for a good company with good career growth potential. It's a trade off.

PHILOSOPHY

İ dont really know how to answer this question. İ like challenges, but there are few things that i actually still want from life. İ do things for the challenge of doing it, or for the knowledge gained.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have spent lots of time on couches! Two weeks on various couches in Norway, two weeks moving through Germany, France, Holland and Belgium on couches, About 3 months on various couches in the US, 2 weeks on couches in Turkey... the list goes on. I have basically been doing this ever since I discovered the joys of travelling in the summer of 2003. Since then I have never stopped. I have always used my own international friend network, but now that I have found this site, I am excited at the endless new oppurtunities that are available.

Interesses

Boardgames, travelling, sailing, yoga, politics, soccer, hiking, rock climbing, kayaking, water skiing, snow skiing, biking, mountain biking, racket ball, socializing... the list goes on. The same stuff most people are interested in and a few extras.

Mostly though i am interested in people.

I just finished reading "Survival of the Sickest." It's a new way of looking at evolution and disease. Incredibly fascinating book. If you know any other books that along the same lines, please tell me.

If you like boardgames, I am the guy to talk to. My number one hobby is boardgamming, and I have played Diplomacy, my favorite game, in seven different countries.
