Overview
About Me
I am fun loving, energetic and searching for an adventure. I'm traveling the world indefinitely trying to visit every country, meet as many new people as I can and eat everything in sight. Originally from the west coast USA, but if you ask me I'll say I'm from Earth.
Feel free to learn more about me and my travels on my blog: SkyeTravels.com
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am a professional traveller, and I want to meet up with people all around the world. I would rather crash on someone's couch than be lonely in a hotel. Hostels are good too, but I personally like couch surfing where I can actually spend time with my host.
Interests
Reading, sports, making friends, eating good food, exploring and an occasional movie. Also hiking, soccer and all other sports, running, graphic design, cooking, learning new things, hanging out with friends etc.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I love all music, and have had the radio playing continually in my room since I was a little kid. My favorite bands include One Republic and 30 Seconds to Mars, but the full list is way too long to list. Current favorites also include Elie Goulding, Alesso and Demi Lovato.
Movies: I'm a huge movie buff, and my personal collection includes (included, since I left it behind when I started travelling) nearly 1500 titles. But my top three favorites of all time are Stardust, Warrior and The Island, and now Interstellar is fighting its way into a top three spot.
Books: I've read over 6000, and I'm still going. I think my favorite series is the Lensman Series by E.E. Doc Smith, but there are hundreds and hundreds of amazing books. Some other great ones are Armor, Cryptomomicon, all books by Terry Goodkind, Battlefield Earth, etc. See the full list at skyetravels.com/about-me/best-books
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Body surfing with dolphins. Participating in the first flash mob in Waterloo Station. Learning to make homemade Italian tiramisu. Cliff diving in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Getting lost in a jungle. Oh, and packing up everything to travel the world for the rest of my life.
But far above all else, running the Tough Mudder Scotland 2016!
Teach, Learn, Share
I have been trained in a myriad of subjects: cooking, graphic design, marketing, finance, math, landscaping, typing, construction, rigging, event production, authentic Thai massage and much more. I am always learning new fields, and I love to pass on the extensive knowledge I have already attained. Feel free to ask me for any help you need. I have my TEFL certificate.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love to cook and was trained by a five-star chef when I was young. I am good with house projects, and can do construction, carpentry, you name it. I am also great with computers and electronics, and I can help in that field. I've been a tutor since I was very little, and can teach a variety of subjects. And for those that need it, I can simply teach English in exchange for a night on the couch. But more than anything, I can offer travel stories and would love to hear yours. I love to chat or go out for something fun together.
