Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To meet some people I otherwise never would have met
ABOUT ME
NOTE: Please don't send me a request 1 - 2 days before you arrive, I will have to decline. I plan my schedule 3 days in advance, and when my apartment isn't used for hosting, its converted into a photo studio that isn't something I can pack and unpack at a moments notice.
Now, onwards:
Good laughs, black humor, interesting places, and smokey liquors are what I consider good things in life. People would probably consider me reserved and old-fashioned, and they'd probably be right. I prefer documentary films over wild parties, long bicycles rides over watching football matches, well made suits and shoes over fast cars. Some would call me a creative pseudo-intellectual, others would call me a boring old codger.
PHILOSOPHY
Rule #1: Be excellent - Rule #2: See Rule#1
Pretty much it. I try to keep an open mind and always give people the benefit of the doubt, whatever my own prejudices might tell me about them.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I host! And sometimes show people around.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted, and so it has only been a really positive experience, and a trend I hope will continue.
Interests
My main interest in life is travelling (go figure), and that is also why I signed up for this. I have been fortunate enough to be able to travel extensively and see a lot of fantastic places, as well as meeting some great people, and I'd like to have a hand in helping someone else do the same.
I have three great passions in my life: My job (sad, huh?), my family, and photography. I've recently gotten into portrait photography and I love it. I hope to take photos of lots of interesting people. Perhaps you'll let me take your picture?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1. The lavender fields of the Provence
This was just so amazing. The sight of lavender fields as far as the eye can see, and the scent of it being absolutely overpowering. It was like going through a giant air freshener, just less articifial and disgusting.
2. El Teide on Tenerife
All I saw on Tenerife was beach, beach, and Teide, the volcano on the island. The contrast between the coastline with its beaches and thriving urban life was just so stark. It was like someone dropped the Mojave on top of Tenerife.
3. Being denied entry in to the United States of America
Oh, what's that Sir? Your middle name is in the wrong box on the form? Guess you'll just have to turn right around. Damn you TSA, damn you! :P Yeah, I can laugh about it. Now...
