About Me
Hey, I'm Slate.
My friends would (probably) describe me as spontaneous, eclectic, musical, and goofy.
I love to learn. Right now I am traveling the world through a research fellowship to discover community-based agroecology and ecovillages. I'm working on my Portuguese, French and yoga teaching. Every year I try to go on a backpacking trip, and I love to camp/be outside. Especially I love trekking and long-distance kayaking.
I love deep talks, feeling open and comfortable to express ourselves, building meaningful relationships, dancing, being silly, and dreaming/singing/making music together.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing has opened up a whole world of potential friendships and adventures to me.
I have met people that have changed my life!
Through being a guest and hosting on Couchsurfing, I...
- Spent a week in the French countryside with a sweet family and friends
- Went on a Mediterranean mountain hike with people I just met
- Made the best vegan nachos and snowboarded in Colorado
- Saw a giant waterfall in Quebec
- Went swimming and a sauna on a lake in winter
- So much more!
I just want to keep the love and gratitude going.

Teach, Learn, Share
Can share vegan cooking!
Yoga , ecology, history
An excessive amount of knowledge about film. If you're a film buff, we'll have alot to talk about.
I'm a music nerd. Tell me your favorite artists :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
One of my Couchsurfing traditions is that whenever I stay with someone, I cook a meal for them. It is a lovely tradition.
