Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Ever since I turned 18, I’ve finally had the freedom to travel—and I’m excited to make the most of it! For me, Couchsurfing feels like the best way to explore the world. I’ve heard (and been part of) so many beautiful stories that started through this community. What draws me most is the chance to connect with people, to learn how others see the world, and to understand different philosophies of living. I’m endlessly curious about people and their stories—and I believe this kind of exchange makes travel truly meaningful.

Interests

I find so much joy in the little things—like feeling the sun on my skin while getting lost in a beautiful view. Nature gives me a deep sense of peace and balance. Dancing is another love of mine—it’s how I connect with my emotions, through rhythm and movement. I’m also passionate about food; since we eat every day, why not make it a celebration? I enjoy turning meals into experiences worth remembering. And even if I don’t know much about art history, I love getting lost in a painting or sculpture—sometimes beauty doesn’t need an explanation, just appreciation.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Since I was 18, I’ve made it a point to do something each year that scares me a little—something that pushes me outside my comfort zone.

2019 – I organized my first solo trip abroad to Italy. Was scary because I wasn’t confident in my adventure skills or my English. I used Couchsurfing for the first time on this trip and adored the idea <33

2020 – I tried bungee jumping and paragliding

2021 – I hiked for 18 days across my country, from west to east, through the mountains—a total distance of about 650 km.

2022 – I biked 400 km along the Bulgarian coast in six days, despite never owning a bike before.

2023 – I spent six months in the USA alone, working and traveling. The challenges helped me understand my limits and my individual needs better.

2024 – I moved to Spain for seven months to learn Spanish (still in progress!).

2025 – Backpacking through Europe by train. Visited 9 countries for a month.

2026 – Hopefully, South America!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’d love to be your new friend! I’m a great listener and always enjoy meaningful conversations. I can cook you a traditional Bulgarian dish, teach you some fun Bulgarian folk dances, and share stories about our culture and unique traditions. I really enjoy cultural exchange and would be happy to learn from you, too!
