About Me

CURRENT MISSION

read as much as I can... enjoy university

ABOUT ME

Even though I’m rather shy and quiet, I’m generally very affable and easy to get on with. My life has also been rather tranquil up to now and I’m both excited and scared of my new life at university in an unknown city away from home, which is a very new situation for me and an interesting challenge.
Serious conversations appeal just as much to me as making up weird stories, talking nonsense and joking, which I do most often with my friends. I can get quite loud and funny when you get to know me better - or start talking to me about movies and books, which are my favourite topics of all time.
You can find me often in pubs or in the park or at home cooking and watching a movie afterwards with my friends, but I’m seldom at parties because I’m shy and am often cross with myself because I would love to be dancing but am afraid to make a fool of myself and therefore not dancing but standing around foolishly.
Going with my dog for a walk and playing clarinet in a little orchestra are also important aspects of my life, as I enjoy very much nature and love learning new songs. I hope to be able to continue at least the latter thing in University.
I’m a sucker for honey and herbal tea – and musli.

PHILOSOPHY

I’m still too young and have seen to little of life to have a coherent philosophy, so right now I just try to be grateful for and happy about my life and what I have.

Interests

I love stories, whether they are in books, movies, comics or original fiction on the internet, or told by people and I’ll lap those up like honey – also I like to think about why people (or fictional characters) behave the way they behave, I’m interested in the inner workings of their minds, and very much a pop-psychologist in that way, I’m afraid. Even video games have a certain pull for me, there are stories in them, too, and often interesting ideas how their world is working and how the environment with which you as player have to struggle came to be. Sadly, I’m rather bad at playing them myself.
Besides of that, I enjoy being taught about technology and gadgets, biology and how nature works or economics and politics – I know very little about all that, but I love to learn more about it. Everything that broadens my horizon is welcome to me, because I think life and our world is so rich and there is so much diversity and so many complex structures and it's a shame to ignore all that.

Music, Movies, and Books

I simply love Jane Austen, her books as well as movies made of them. Apart of that I mostly read young adult books, romantic comedies, fantasy books, but occasionally I also enjoy sci-fi or crime stories – and I love the Canongate myth series and Paul Murrays “Skippy dies”. Movies-like I also have a very wide range of what I enjoy, from chick-flicks, zombie movies over superhero and comedy or animated films to thrillers. And I love the new modern Sherlock Holmes series with Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman!
I know very little about music and music styles, but I like listening to SWR1 and I like Kilians, Sophia, Taking Back Sunday, The Kooks, Jack Johnson and stuff like that – I guess, rather relaxed Rock-Pop-stuff…

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I love watching bussards fly on a windy day. I do that quite often now, that it's autumn.

Teach, Learn, Share

There isn't much I can teach people, but probably I can recommend you books or movies that you would enjoy... or teach you a bit about playing the clarinet. And I could proof-read texts (I always did that in school for my friends^^)...
