About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Hike. Eat. Ride the bike. Repeat.
ABOUT ME
Originally from the L.A. area. Lived and worked in many parts of the United States from coast to coast and visited almost every corner of the country. Now I'm in rural far Northern California. A lot of opportunities for quiet and solitude here, but not many CSers passing through. My response rate is apparently pretty low, but that's because I don't respond to 1-2 line copy/paste messages from people with blank profiles. And those make up the majority of my requests.
I’ve worked a variety of different jobs in my life and finally settled down in my mid 30s.
PHILOSOPHY
I'm not the philosophical type. If you are, that’s cool, but I may roll my eyes when you’re not looking.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've been hosted a fair amount of times, hosting when I can, but available to hang out too. Not many people pass through these parts, so not much hosting happening unfortunately.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I’ve been hosted a bit and done some hosting when I’ve actually lived in an area people want to visit. Ironically, I now have a pretty solid setup for hosting, but I live in a really rural area and most Couchsurfers don’t visit rural areas, so….
Interests
I like walking and go hiking about as often as I can. I like looking at the hilltops and buttes in my area and being able to say "Yea, I've been on top of that."
I've taken up very beginner level mountain biking. Try to get some cross-country skiing in during the winter.
I sell stuff on ebay as a hobby.
What else?? Not much else, I'm pretty boring I guess.
- traveling
- geography
Music, Movies, and Books
I like weird music. Can’t really define that, but I know it when I hear it. I lean towards non-fiction books, but try to alternate between fiction and non-fiction.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
nothing yet.
Teach, Learn, Share
Not really qualified to teach too much. Fairly good on U.S. geography
What I Can Share with Hosts
Dry sense of humor with a reasonably good ability to read social cues.
My apparently unorthodox views on breakfast.
If you ask me to wash the dinner dishes, consider it done.
If I'm hosting you, I'll probably make you dinner. Probably the American traditional cultural specialty of “food made in crock pot”. I will telll you to eat your vegetables, because if you’re traveling, you’re likely not getting enough.
