About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To leave this wonderful world a little better before I'm done! Through passion and stewardship of special places, through warm and intentional interactions with people, dancing wildly, wonderful food prepared with love from my garden

ABOUT ME

54 years young, an adventurer both at home and afar. I have a passion for nurturing, the landscape around me and the people in my life. I have lived in the Northwest part of Washington most of my life and grew up exploring the waters and forests. I started a bakery at a early age, then went on to raise three sons, pursue education in biology and coastal zone issues. I have spent time cooking in Alaska, and now am the director of our local Land Trust.

PHILOSOPHY

Carpe Diem! We are given this life to LIVE! Experience, STRETCH and embrace it fully - continue to learn and be open to new people, ideas, ways of thinking and being. Take care of your body, drink lots of water - move, and laugh!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As a couch surfer I am willing to jump in and help cook, or have been known to bake treats of all sorts!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I have had minimal but great experiences with Couch Surfing. The best was a weekend picking olives near Rome where I met fellow couch surfers and a group of wonderful artists of all types. I hope to reciprocate as a host sometime in the near future.

Interests

I love to grow food and have a big garden and get great satisfaction from cooking a meal from only ingredients I have grown! I love wild dancing, music of most kinds, hiking the mountains, wildlife tracking, biking, skiing, soft ripened cheeses, my three sons, their father, my broader family and great community. I also love sharing experiences and my community with others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Learning how to track wild animals of the Pacific Northwest, and become internationally certified as a track and sign specialist through the Cyber Tracker certification process. I love being in nature and reading the signs that our wild brethren leave on the landscape.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach baking, cooking, something about land conservation.

Interested in learning about different cultures through food and cooking, language, dance, music, art. Want to share some of the same and adventures in the outdoors.
